Information:
During the first years of Lorath space exploration, it was discovered that the greatest boundary to space travel was the supply of food, air, and water to the crews of their space exploration vehicles. The solution to this problem was to place the crew into stasis, thus allowing the crew to survive for a much longer amount of time without replenishing the crew's supplies.

Technical Information:
There are three key components to a Lorath stasis procedure, each one of these components ensures the success of the procedure.

The first component is the establishing of the frozen state of the subject. Often this is achieved through a "Rapid Freezeâ€

Prior to freezing, all individuals are allowed to store their neural data incase of complications in the awakening procedure. In situations where the awakening does not go as planned, life functions are maintained in the subject's body to prevent decay of organic tissues, and allow for possible resuscitation later on.

If the revival fails, the body is artificially maintained (such as a vegitable on life support). As soon as the body is stabilized, and microsurgery is completed on damaged tissues, the neural data can be reapplied in an attempt to ressurect the person whom had the complication.
