Even in space, there are gas pockets, hence why the audio range in space for a 90 decible sound is about 10 meters in such a gas pocket.

From what I know, these gas pockets gravitate together and then dispurse based on neighboring gravitational fields.

Presumably, even if you're far away from a gas pocket, you can still flat-out convert a few million sparse air-particles and get emergancy thrust.

What's the SARP's take on matter/energy conversion?

Matter/Energy and Energy/Matter conversion is a go. QnS technology makes such things possible. Also we must look at Misshu and Star Army vessels which use positron beam and packet weapons.
