Lori is an officer's officer; efficient and able to the tasks she is assigned, she exercises a detachment from the rank and file that doesn't win her very much admiration. A true patriot, she believes in the Yamatai Star Empire and would be willing to lay her life down for it.

History
Lori Narui has been in the military since she could remember, a career noted for its significance in lacking any major points of significance. Born the only child to upper middle class parents, Lori entered the military academy and excelled in all subject matters related to the military, doing quite poorly in the humanities. Her poor studies were most likely due to her free-wheeling lifestyle at this junction in her life; the most telling product of that period being the child she bore out of wedlock. Realizing she could not keep or support the child, she gave it up for adoption and has to this day never forgiven herself for that decision. Funneling emotion as a driving force, she threw herself into every mission she was assigned, distinguishing herself in her dogged pursuit of objectives and the borderline recklessness she sometimes displayed. With the newest front having opened up, she was transfered to the YSS Mikomi.
Skills:
Knowledge & Math: Lori has learned about the history of the Star Army and the Yamatai Star Empire. The one area of the humanities in which she actually paid attention. Math, a subject she saw as important, was a field she did moderately well in.
Starship Operations: Apart from academy training, Lori has had to operate various positions on the bridge of a starship at one point or another due to crew shortages from battle damage and other such related incidents.
Fighting and Physical: Lori has recieved the usual Star Army training in fighting methodology. She keeps in practice, even as an officer, with advanced close combat techniques both armed and unarmed; she has given thought to developing a fighting style of her own.
