This would be the first field test of the M-40 Raven.
A small dock in space in orbit over Nepleslia Prime had recently become a nuisance and a base for pirate raids (it was built along a major trade lane) in the past few months, and when a craft known as the Raider intercepted a Nepleslian military shipment, procuring a huge amount of infantry weapons, the Admiralty found a perfect opportunity to check on the next generation of fighters to be used by the Star Army of Nepleslia.
A contingent of 4 M-40 Ravens was deployed at 0010 hours and entered low orbit some time that night, arriving at the space station in a few minutes more travel time. The casual stargazer from an outlying house would spot four streaks of black on the starlit night sky.
At 0015 hours, the Ravens entered visual range of the space station and confirmed the location of the Raider, currently selling its cargo in dock. The Ravens fell upon the base, their unguided penetration bombs breaking the bridge that had extended between the station and the Raider. Within seconds the point-defense weapons on board the Raider returned fire, spitting ammunition at the swirling and diving Ravens.
At 0025 hours, the Ravens disabled the life support and gravity generators on board the space station, effectively and permanently shutting down operations. The squadron turned back to resupply; having expended ammunition for the assault in a matter of ten minutes. The Raider would be found at 0142 hours, disabled, drifting towards the area north of Los Apagos. Whatever was still on board was disabled in a cataclysmic explosion that lit up the night sky for a matter of thirty seconds.
The Ravens had exceeded their original expectations and were found quite impressive amongst the Admiralty; labelled as 'a valuable asset in the SAoN).
