Making a planet..

I could've sworn there was a thread on this already, but I do believe it was almost one or two years old? Regardless, I have issues reviving two year old threads...

The deal is this, I'm still working on my NPC race but since I'm starting to write up their planet in a text file I've found myself hitting a roadblock:

I have no clue what SARP requires when it comes to planet, while yes we have a Planet Guide, it's not approved so I can't really use that information.

So my question is, what is it that we should be looking for when it comes to creating a planet? Other than the speed of rotation, it's planetary classification, possibly even a map of the lands as well along with any cities and infrastructure...

Bottom line, enough information so that any player going or living there gets a clear picture.

Environment, weather? Any unique plants or animals? Cities ? etc

Think of it a bit like a travel guide. IF someone wants to go to your planet, the page should answer the most common questions.

Brainstorming:

System (link to system:$SYSTEM_NAME )
Sector (if applicable)
Sun Info (doesn't have to be complicated, especially if you're not using a generator to do the math)
Moons, if any

Current Government, if any
Population, if any (does not need to be exact)

Climate Info (Min, Max, avg temps)
Terrain Info (type of surfaces, how much is covered by water, etc)
Surface gravity
Local Lifeforms
Cities and Points of interest (bullet list of links to location:$LOCATION_NAME articles ?)

Here's a star system generator I've been using that provides a good base:
http://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/system/

it also has a planetary generator usable on terrestrial planets.

Example:
https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=st ... etary_data

There is also a Planet Generator on Steam for like 10 bucks that either SSharp or Shotjon uses.

Plus I got updated my planet maker recently. Although looking at the data I realize it only really useful for gas gaints in terms of realism. I could like to if you like Kyle.

Speak of which Wes you wanna have a brainstorming session later tonight or tommorow on the Star System's Guide? Nash, Ira, Kai, and anyone else who want to contribute can join to ^^

I am tagging @Legix as I know he is going to be making a Brolt planet, which has its own WIP page already ad art and everything, but I know some of this information is invaluable!
