Motoyoshi Bakufu News [MBNN] Corporate Buy Out

Today marked a stunning upset within the United Outer Colonies as Motoyoshi Fleet Yards, noted designer, and manufacturer of several quality star ship designs for both civilian, and military use have been in talks with other local corporate entity, Kakutama Heavy Industries also a high ranking shareholder of the United Manufacturing Cooperative for the past several weeks. Representatives of both companies, in addition to members of the noted parent company, Novacorp have been in heated negotiations over the fate of the subsidiary company, MFY.

Over the past several months, the Colonies stock market has seen a steady decline of both futures, and stock of Motoyoshi Fleet Yards which now currently stands at a dismal one hundred and three points. A decrease of over fifteen over the last two weeks. Regrettably, this has resulted in several hundred workers being laid off in a bid to cut costs, as well as selling off portions of stock, and holdings within the Colonies in a bid to recoup recent losses.

KHI, having been the only other company within the Colonies has been in hot competition with MFY ever since its founding, contracts to both civilians, and military interests have marked a steady increase of profit, as well as majority control of mining rights which supply the Colonies with vital resources. KHI has also been noted for charity work in helping to restore Yuukan after an un-provoked attack last year that resulted in the loss of loved ones, and dear friends.

As a result of their rivalries, KHI had provided a proposal several weeks prior, presented to both, MFY, and Novacorp head offices. As KHI had steadily begun buying vast quantities of the failing MFY stock, the proposition had been a simple one. To buyout the remaining shares of MFY, and Novacorp's majority control over the subsidiary company. MFY reluctantly agreed, negotiations with Novacorp have been favorable however as well.

With the recent war between the Yamataian Empire, and the NMX, it has been speculated that Novacorp has been assisting the Empire by supplying vital resources when and where it can to assist them, however, this is not confirmed. At this time, no Novacorp Representatives have commented upon the issue, but seemed to be receptive to the offer proposed. The proposed buyout, a staggering seven hundred and fifty million HS, translating equally over to the Empire's monetary system. This was also in addition to paying off any debts the company may have had prior.

In addition, a needed influx of funds of an additional ten million HS into the MFY coffers has allowed them to reopen factory doors within several Tokyo industrial complexes to laid off employees and helping to get the company back onto the fast track, and into the limelight once more.

It should however be noted, that the name sake in which the company has been named, Motoyoshi Tio as well as Koyanagi Mayumi (Noted member of the Motoyoshi Clan) retains control over the company's day to day running. However, it remains a subsidiary under KHI's name at this time. KHI has however expressed hopes that the company will one day be able to become independent, standing on its own two legs, and growing into a more fruitful, and successful business.

(OOC Note: I've done this more or less to try and keep MFY in a bit of limelight, as well as hopes that I may one day design for the company again. And salvage some of the hardwork Andrew has left behind from falling into obscurity. If necessary, I can try and get ahold of whom ever to talk of this.)
