Measurements and Mass

An IRC convo I was having early this morning about adding LWH measurements and a weight value for a side project of mine has got me wondering a couple of things:

First, what would the LWH ratio be for SARP's non-humanoid species (such as the Kodians)?

Second, what's the relationship between a SAoY PA's mass and the mass of its occupant?

I really have no idea, but I'm willing to take suggestions.

I think the issue is that people and aliens vary widely in their measurements so there's no hard numbers on how they match to their power armors. The closest you could get would be to go by the stats of the Mindy and the stats of an average Nekovalkyrja, I guess.

What Wes said. And frankly very few people really put much thought into measurements for equipment and such because its really not needed \.

I think it would be appreciated if some general guideposts existed for equipment... While it is generally easy to determine if a PC will fit down a hallway, it might be useful to know when a PA is heavy enough to say... Fall through a wooden floor.

Even something as simple as, "Generally ___ larger than the wearer" or a marker of how much an average version of the unit weighs would be nice.

Given that Kodians are the example used here how much more mass is being added to an already heavy species by putting them in armor?

A Mindy or Daisy is usually at least twice as heavy as its pilot, would the same hold true for a Kodian?

Planning around the benefits and flaws of a set of equipment gives GMs and players more options and allows them to play in a way that is more true to how their character would interact with a scene. While this might not always be necessary or wanted it would still be nice to have the option.

As someone who is over 130kg by the boots and 130cm by the shoulder, I feel this thread is intolerant of my personal body image. I demand that all power-armors over 44 inches in width have their true dimensions hidden. Anything weighing between two-hundred pounds and one tonne should be listed as 'portly' or 'full-figured'. Anything measuring over fifty inches by the shoulder should have their mass listed as 'big-boned' or 'jolly'. Respect my adjectives.
