Alright, for the town hall meeting, here's some topics I want to discuss:

Faction-Friendliness / PvP Roleplay
Future direction of the community and site for year '07
Timeline updates / YE 30
Training Plots
Art commissions system
Plotships
Future Plot concepts
Recruiting ad advertising efforts

Any you want to add?

From a PM sent to Wes, edited for content:
  • Advancement to YE 30 - the plan, the concerns
    • Related - establishment of a calender system
  • Expanding upon the universe - more detailed guides on planets and culture
  • Aquiring more art, and art of more things, to give the SARP a clear, definitive look
    • Related - Improving the graphical look of the site - adding graphics to the CCG and other areas
  • Continuing to expand the playerbase; finding ways to promote the site
    • Related - finding a better thing to call ourselves than SARP and SARPers, which are both just 1 letter away from LARP and LARPers, thus turning off many who would otherwise participate
    • Related - finding a way to keep our player base high quality, and also making sure no 14 year old girls try to join
  • Finding out which things within the site and roleplay should be purged and/or reinstated for the greater good, perhaps with some element of retconning
  • Ways to gather revenue for the site - expanding upon our current t-shirt designs, for example
    • Related - find ways to spend that money effectively
    • Related - Asking various female SARPers to donate their panties to male SARPers
  • The making of nerdy references
I do hope this list was comprehensive.

Stick all our bad and underaged roleplayers in this thing? Quality control, CSEIA style.

P.S. -- Someone needs to bring punch and pie. More people will come if they think we'll have punch and pie. And panties too, apparently.

P.P.S -- Sister said: 'This is why I don't have a character on SARP.' ^^;;

I second this notion with every fibre of my mortal being.

What I'd really like to see is talk about a SARP wiki. I know its been mentioned before, but it could make it easier to keep the SARP background and CCG pages updated and expanded. No offense to Wes, but some of the pages haven't been updated in ages. In HTML form all the work gets pretty much dumped on his shoulders alone, so I can't blame him. Since the SARP universe is constantly evolving and is not static, a Wiki would really help streamline things by spreading the work over the whole community instead of one person.

Hmm, that would be 7am Saturday morning for me... Perfect, now to try not to oversleep.

Retconning would put many people's hard work to waste. I support Leutere's idea, and would suggest that certain topics be highligthed like important events, basic histories and technologies so that newcomers would not be totaly swamped by the amount of reading material, and can pursue these at their own leisure.

Star Army's own wiki could help, but the fact is that there is a LOT of story and lore to wade through before you can even hope to begin a character confidently. This could turn off a lot of people, both the ones we want gone and those who could've been great additions. The problem might be the organization of it, or it could be something else.

*shrug*

How about we have multiple people write 'summaries' of the RP's history, each with their own personal writing quirks? This would serve two purposes: 1) you get to learn history of the SARP from differing perspectives, and 2) you get to see the writing styles of the GMs and players before you RP with them.

Let's keep this thread for suggesting topics for the meeting rather than starting discussions in this thread, please. ^_^

I know I don't belong outside my own thread but since a wiki was finally added I wanted to congratulate you on a very good decision. If there was a site that needed it, this was definitely it.

You should start mapping out how things will interconnect besides the obvious (linking to it) It's been a while since I've worked on a wiki so I forgot more than a couple of things but I remember you had plenty of "linking" options.

Hey, we could even maintain an updated list of characters needing artwork on the wiki. This wiki makes like easier for everyone.
