Following the end of their shore leave the members of the 17th Armor Wing's Red Squadron received orders to report to their briefing room as soon as they had removed their civilian clothes and gotten themselves in their uniforms again.

Corro had been contacted just moments before the rest of the group was being taken off of the YSS Hikari. Given the information packet he was only allowed a brief amount of time to prepare the layout of the gauntlet. So brief that he was just finishing as the pilots began to enter the briefing chamber. "Please take your sets. Red Squadron on one half, White squadron on the other.â€

"So this is it! it is time to show the army what are you made of, Izusuhara Hikomaru, this warrior that is prone to crush every obstacle that is on the way! Yosha!" said the black haired geshrin while holding his bokken high in sign of victory.

The timing was perfect for him, however, he was disturbed at some point by a sudden past memory. "By the way, i haven´t had the oportunity to meet my roomie... i hope he´s a cool and war-loving joe" he mumbled, interrupting his movements for a second. "Anyway, this should stay here, because i gotta get moving like now". Throwing his bokken on the bed, he leaped out of the room, leaving most of his clothing messed up in the room´s floor.

Taking a serious mood, he steeped into the briefing room. The sides were already choosen, so he went to the left side, and took sit. "Greetings" - he said politely, uncomforted by the fact that everyone is a stranger.

Cao sat in the middle of the red squadron pilots and listined to Corro prep the breifing. Cao looked over at the white squadron memberes and sneered. "Training exercises.." Cao muttered "I love em" he said Turning up back to Corro. Cao hoped this would move along quickly. He hated breifings, he rather be in his armor in the heat of the action. But out side of the armor training programs back on yamatai this was his first true assignment. And thus was his first actual time to be put in a state of the art model of power armor.

Looking about the room Corro made a brief nod to those who had showed up. "Alright then. I want to make sure we get this in one run so no questions." Corro started and keyed a display on his podium. Behind him a star map appeared on the main screen for the pilots to see. It zoomed into an overview map of the Taiie system as a whole.

"We have are being asked to conduct some training exercises to make sure all of our pilot corps are well versed. This means that we will be running a multitude of courses that I expect you all to perform above par on." Corro keyed the display on the podium again. The map on the screen zoomed in further, focusing on a ring of asteroids between two of Taiie's planetoid bodies.

"This is the Demesis Belt. Once we launch from the Akuro we are to head here and conduct the training exercises there. Upon arrival the first section will be an obstacle course through the asteroid belt to a specified point. Watch your maneuvers; you are being graded on proper control, technique, and speed." Corro looked down fumbling with something on the podium out of view. "The second section will have each squadron reform and perform cooperative maneuvers. I will give out the commands, you and your squad will perform them, in cohesion. You are being graded for how you interact with you peers; I don't like lone wolves here."

Corro keyed the display again. The map zoomed a ways into the Demesis Belt and highlighted a specific zone on it. "Following those tests we will have the final one. There is an obstacle course set up within the belt; you are instructed to eliminate all targets from the area. Be warned they are armed. You're speed and efficiency are the utmost priority here, but also how well you work with you squadron.

"As you might have guessed by now, I am pitting 10th Armor Wing's White Squadron against the 17th Armor Wing's Red Squadron. The squadron with the highest grades will receive commendations and possibly a reward on their return." Pressing the display a final time, Corro disengaged the main screen. He stepped out from the podium and looked over the group.

"There are two rules to this training exam. First being a speed cap at 0.8c, second is that your onboard nav computers are set to manual. Otherwise, use all that you have at your disposal. Damage is going to be simulated and carried over for all the exams. And that's all, get to your armors and prepare for launch." Corro nodded curt to the two squadrons as he finished and went silent.

As Corro finished the briefing, Hikomaru stood up and went to meet him, since he didn´t have the chance to do it before.

"Mr. Aldritch, sir. I am Nito Heisho Izusuhara Hikomaru, and i was ordered to meet you as soon as i arrived to the ship. I was ordered to join the 17th Power Armor Wing, so i am at your service, sir" - he saluted.

As the breifing concluded Cao wasted no time in standing up and heading down to the armor bay. The walk with his peers was breif But finally he arrived.

He stood before his armor and inspected it with a silent calm. "So this will be the weapon i shall weild.." he spoke softly as hestudyed the Super Phalanx armor he had been assighned. He waited for Corro and the opposing squadron to appear in the bay before he entered his armor.

Cao looked at the machine's weapons and he smiled smugly. "This is gonna be fun.."

Dana had shown up before the Briefing and took his seat. He remained silent throughout the briefing. Once the briefing had ended he was up and out the door with the rest. He arrived quickly at his armor and with a trained speed, prepped it and got into it.

"Nito Heisho Izusuhara, huh?" Corro started looking at the saluting pilot. "Well if you're at my service I think you can take my orders into account and go get suited up." He ended with a slight twinge of annoyance in his voice. "Otherwise, welcome to the 17th."

Corro returned to the podium, grabbing his datapads and then setting off down the passageway to Kasairyuu Wing's armor bay. Once there an enlisted engineer sought him out and returned a parcel to him. Removing his uniform jacket he unwrapped the item, revealing his right arm. With practiced ease he slid the pins into their slots in the shoulder joint and locked down the cybernetic implant. Corro nodded to the engineer, who saluted and jogged off to other work.

The armor bay was practically empty save for a few engineering and maintenance personnel and the Red Squadron members. White Squadron had returned to their armor bay and would launch from there. Climbing into his Super Phalanx, Corro began the OS and opened up the communications network with the two squadrons.

"Alright, listen up. This is Shoi Adlich. I'm sending you all coordinates for the location of the first training run. I want the teams to launch with their members together and make as great haste as possible to that point." As if on cue, each of the squadron member's received a link on their armor's nav computers on the primary location of the Demesis Belt. Corro picked up the powered armor's helmet but didn't place it one yet. "Is that clear?"

Cao began calmly prepping his armor then finally climbed int. It sealed around him like a military issued coffen. It was a snug fit but one he found comfortable. The link to the Demisis belt showed up on his nav computer. He opened them up then began throughly going over them. He listined to Corro's Orders then responded over his comm channel in a calm "Crystel clear Sir." The tone was icy cold yet respectful.

Cao powered up his drives began the launch protocalls. He waited till it was his turn to launch and in a second he was in the cold void of space. Cao brough his armor to bear and fell perfectly into formation. He opened his comm channel and reported in "Red 7 in formation command."

Hikomaru understood the frivolity of his officer, even though, the seriousness of the case merited it. Not saying a word back to Corro; he simply saluted him back, and headed to the bay, where his phalanx was.

"So get the party started, Hikomaru, time to show some moves! yosha!" - he laughed loudly on one of the passages leading to the bay, not caring if someone heard him or not.

Standing, more likely, staring in front of the Super Phalanx that he got issued he mumbled "So this is it! time for a ride... to victory!"

Suiting himself up, he started to run some system checks and stood by for further orders inside his power armour.

"Is that clear?"

"Understood, sir."

Hikomaru scrambled off, to take formation. He was excited, but decided to keep his mouth shut for the moment to not make a buffoon of himself in the very start of the mission.

"Izusuhara, red 9 in formation" he said over the communicator, barely repressing his excitement.

"Good." Came Corro's quick response. Keying his communication over to the Akuro's flight control he began the necessary pre-flight procedures. The pilots only had a few moments to breath before he started up again.

"Pilots on the line!" Corro bellowed. As the suits lined up, Corro loked them up and down, before slamming his own helmet down. "Red Sqaudron launch!" Corro's Super Phalanx took off running across he bay before leaping into the air and igniting its engines into deep space.

Cao's armor awaited his commander's presence in the formation. He remained silent being heh ad no position of command in the wing as of yet. Cao viewed this as his baptism by fire. A way to earn his place in this wing. Cao watched his displays carefully, and mapped the formations. "Ok command...running systems checks...energy outputs at 100%...all systems optimal...Im ready to go" He stated in his passive voice. He went silent as his counterparts stated their own systems checks.

He then Held his fighter in formation, around Corro. He would remain here untill the situation dictated other wise.

Dana closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath after he had got on the line as ordered by Corro. With the order to launch he followed Corro's lead in the Phalanx he was assigned, ran down the bay, jumpe and ignited its engines to follow Corro into deep space.

Hikomaru propelled into the deep space as soon his commanding officer issued the order, following him. "This is Red 9, all systems nominal and in formation" he said in a strong, yet anxious tone. Hikomaru knew it was just a training course, but he was decided to make it perfect. Yet, his nerves were not helping him...

The flight to the Demesis belt was quiet. Corro remained tight-lipped; he wanted to make good time for the exams, so he just hoped the Red Squadron would follow after him. As they left the Akuro's cover, White squadron appeared from their own armor bays, quickly moving to catch up with Corro and Red Squadron.

White Squadron fell in line directly behind most of the members of Red Squadron and remained in tight formation. Their Mindy power armors hardly moving as the flight bore on.

Corro was busy finishing the final touches on the last training exercise during the flight. He wanted to make sure everyone would have a difficult time with it. However, if they managed to get through it, they would be that much more experienced in the field. He linked the Akuro with the number of training drones and their types and asked them to send them to a specified section of the Demesis belt, which he also marked on the system map.

Soon the asteroid belt loomed in the distance. Silently floating and twisting through space. All at once the squadron's nav computers shut down, leaving the teams flying without directions. They would have to rely on their sensors now for direction.

"Alright squadrons, welcome to the Demesis Belt. Enjoy the sights, but try not to get acquainted with them too personally." Corro announced over the communications network. "I'm marking on your maps the starting line for the obstacle course. Move there and wait for my orders to begin." Keying a program in his own suit he activated a green wall on each of the squad-member's HUDs. The green wall was just at the start of the asteroid belt's inner wall. "The finish line is marked with a red wall, cross it and this part of the training is over. It's located straight across the belt. I wish you all the best of luck."

Corro's armor rocketed forward into a position along the green starting wall. "Squadrons on the line." Corro ordered as his suit came to rest. He now began a protocol that capped all the Red and White Squadrons' armors' speed to 0.8c max.

Hikomaru formed in line as his leader ordered, and waited for the starting signal. "har har! no way a little bunch o´asteroids will stop me...!"- he mumbled while staring at the amazing aglomeration of asterioids, searching in the in maze a possible way to go faster. He wanted to be the best.

Cao did as he was ordered and assempled on the line. He sat studying the asteriod maze. This wouldent be a cake walk, but it wasent the most difficult thing he had ever been asked to do. He sat and awaited further orders then noticed the anxious way red 9 a person who was infact to be his wing mate was acting. He patched in over the privite channels knowing command could indeed listen to them. "Hey, Red 7 here..you look nervious." He said in an icy cool tone. "Dont worry about it..if you looked at the roster im your wing man..Cao Pham..With me watching your back this will be easy..but if we wanna win this we need to stick together...cant win this on our own.

His comm timed out and he awaited a response. "That goof ball wont ruin this for me.." Cao said to him self under his breath.

"Oh hey roommate!" he answered in the same private channel "Nah, not nervous but excited. Trainings in deep space are always an adrenaline rush. And sure, it would be better if we stick togheter, i´ll watch your back also. Izusuhara Red 9 out. yosha!" - said in a friendly mood and grinning back to Cao. Hikomaru took his wingman´s words as an honest deal, but filled with a subliminary cynicism that made him a little worried about his wingmate.
