OOC: This thread begins the morning after Eucharis docked, therefore all the survivors have been handed off and ship repairs are underway. The crew has just had a nice breakfast and has been ordered to formation in one of the station's cargo areas in their service dress uniforms and hats. There is a band there...

- - -

"Eucharis! ATTEN-TION!" Hanako ordered in a loud voice.

Once everyone was standing straight with their hands at their sides, Hanako said, "Please pause for the the National Anthem." At that point, the band started playing, and singing for them:

"At ease. Blueberry, post!"

Blueberry went to the front of the formation and began to read a proclamation from a fancy piece of paper:

"January YE 33. Star Army First Expeditionary Fleet, YSS Eucharis, NG-X1-Four Zero Eight. On this day it brings me great pleasure to reward the continuing service of my dedicated crew through these dangerous and uncertain times. The trust the Star Army and I place in their valor, loyalty, and professional excellence continues to to be proven and I hope that they continue their path of growth in skill and character. In view of these qualities and demonstrated, battle-tested leadership I am promoting them as follows...

Jalen Sune, from Shoi to Chui

Nayacesen Takeyu, from NitΓ΄ Heisho to JΓ΄tΓ΄ Heisho

Kumiko Endoh, from NitΓ΄ Heisho to IttΓ΄ Heisho

Mikael Harris, from NitΓ΄ Hei to IttΓ΄ Hei

Michael Papadapolous, from SantΓ΄ Hei to NitΓ΄ Hei

Inoue Kiko, from SantΓ΄ Hei to NitΓ΄ Hei

Additionally, all Eucharis crewmen are hereby issued the following awards:

The Service Award, for YSS Eucharis Mission 11.

The Exploration Award, for exploring HX-5.

The War Medal, for the Second Mishhuvurthyar War.

To recommend yourself or another crew member for additional medals or awards, please post a report includinig the deeds meriting the award in your orders file,"
Blueberry noted. "Signed, Ketsurui Hanako, Commander, YSS Eucharis."

"Recover," Hanako told Blueberry before turning back to the group. "Before I release you, I have two more announcements. Konoka Miyazawa will be transferring off the Eucharis and IttΓ΄ Heisho Takeda Junko will be returning to the crew. Please give both of them your best when you get a chance. Eucharis! ATTEN-TION! Fall out!"

Sune stood proudly with his crew mates. Because these were the people that he shared a common bond. They had fought, bled, and in some cases died serving aboard the Eucharis. He was surprised at hearing that he was once again being promoted.

Once the ceremony was over, he had a specific goal that he could attend to. He crossed over to Takeyu, "Congratulations on your promotion, Nayacesen Takeyu-JΓ΄tΓ΄ Heisho. I was wondering if you have had an opportunity to meet with your sister yet?"

Yaichiro gave an inward sigh...medals? This wasn't the time for medals. The Eucharis' command staff had more important things to worry about. Yaichiro decided to prepare a report...the last mission may not have formally been evidence, but to him it was all the evidence necessary...the time for observing was concluded.

Unsure of how to circumvent any 1st XF or SAINT infiltration, he had two main options available to him. Go through the 2nd Expeditionary Fleet or somehow jump the chain of command to Taisho Yui via Hanako. Yaichiro's mind started to compile a report, but he was too afraid to transmit such a thing through proper channels unless he had to. He'd have to make a hard copy.

At least the intelligence failure didn't seem to be coming from Sanctuary through Nishitama; from what he, BAD Office, and the local authorities could tell. However, when he recalled the escape pods which they were unable to retrieve and left at the mercy of the NMX fleet, there was little comfort in that fact.

Takeyu stood formally for a few, before relaxing a bit. He was still tired and a bit worn out after the mission and the nights dealings, but after this morning’s event, it raised his spirits quite a bit.

When he was about leave, he heard Sune congratulate him. "Thank you sir and congratulations on your promotion as well," he smiled but then heard Sune's next question.

He rubbed his chin for a few then said. "I haven't to be honest, with the way things were yesterday I wasn't able to get away. No excuse I know. I am, however, looking forward to seeing her again. Considering how long it's been, two years...." he shook his head in disbelief. Takeyu still couldn’t believe that two years had gone by since the attack on his family, "Though I’m certain Layven is excited,” with that a pleasant smile crossed his face.

β€œWhen do you think I can see her again Chui?” he asked, his tone serious yet calm.

"There is no reason you can not see her now. I treated her wounds yesterday, and she was not one of those who got infected by the parasites. I was planning on going to the medical center to check in on her myself, so if you like we can go there together. I am sure the medical personnel are taking good care of her, but I did tell her I would check in on her. And having her brother show visit is probably the best medicine she could have right now." He said with a grin.

Sorano woke up in her quarters aboard the Flagship and performed her morning stretching exercises. They were her way to clear the cobwebs and get ready for the day. She stripped out of her sleep wear and went into her bathroom to shower. After toweling off she exited the bathroom and put on the clean uniform that she had laid out the night before. After checking her appearance in the full length mirror, she picked up her Isolated Computer Pad. She stepped out and made her way to her office, she checked her terminal. There was nothing that needed her immediate attention.

She rose and stepped out of her office in to her Aide's. "Onikisu-Shosa, please see to it that my bags are brought down to the shuttle that I will going over to the Chiharu on. I am heading down to the bridge to speak with Ikeda-Taisa before I head over."

Junko looked around awkwardly as the crew broke from formation. She felt a little weird about coming back from the Vesper, especially with the Eucharis having been through the ringer, again, without her. Shuffling generally along with the others, she fiddled with her new service dress cap. The transfer back to the Eucharis had been rather abrupt and she was still worried her ribbon wasn't on perfectly straight. Dismissing her unnecessary concerns with a grimace, she worked her way over to the Taisa.

β€œMa'am,” she said in greeting while inclining her head in a polite bow. β€œI'm glad to be back with the Eucharis and under you, ma'am.”

Takeyu nodded approvingly, he had hoped that would be the case. "When do you plan on heading down there if I may ask?"

While waiting for a reply, he started working on an after action report, detailing everything that had gone on from the moment they had arrived in system, to the ground operation, and then afterwords.

Michael smiled as the crew was dismissed, yawning and stretching his arms out. As the crew dispersed to go their separate ways, he found himself attempt to catch up to JΓ΄tΓ΄ Hei Lime. Jumping infront of the Sprite, Michael bowed to her, then stood upright, with a blush.

"JΓ΄tΓ΄ Hei Lime, Ma'am. While I understand that your everyday duties onboard the Eucharis involve cooking, I would like to enlist your co-operation in, well." Michael's blush spread, and grew deeper. "I would like for you to assist me gathering ingredients to, uhm, cook some Elysian dishes that I believe the crew would like."

Manabu stood in rigid formation, immaculate in his service dress and proud with almost absurd sincerity. No one in the Star Army was exactly a stranger to the pomp of ceremony, but it was different to be standing with a crew you called yourself a part of from a ship you called your home: proud of your ship, your mates, even yourself.

With the crew dismissed, Manabu then took the time to reflect on the recent events. Things almost seemed anti-climactic: they had reached the Star Fortress, successfully helped the survivors the disembark and be processed safely (which Manabu considered a personal failure, having only discerned few details the night before and none of them of even little importance), and... here they were. Considering it further, it was of course ludicrous taking into account the fact that they all nearly died planetside and the ship was in need of dire repairs. Maybe he just needed some kind of catharsis. More than that, he needed his hand properly looked after.

With the bandaged, tightly wrapped appendage at the small of his back, he gestured with the left as he stepped among the dispersed crew. With a smile, he offered his genuine congratulations to his mates for their commendations and promotions before making up his mind to head for the medical center.

"Well, I figure there is no time like the present. I am sure she is looking forward to getting out of the medical center, and well you have some good news to share with her. Along with some time to catch up on." Sune replied.

He looked at his communicator that he had downloaded the instructions, "Shall we?"

Takeyu nodded. "Of course sir," he said and began to follow Sune. Before he left the area though, he glanced over his shoulder and toward Yaichiro and then sent off a text message to him.

Chusa? If possible I would like to talk to you about something you mentioned awhile back, where Layven could stay at the mansion you presently own. If that's still a possibility, please let me know. I'm certain your duties are a must, so I'll understand it if you can't talk to me about it in person.

Mikael kept a very professional appearance on his face as he stood at attention and sung the National Anthem. But he was clearly annoyed about something as soon as he was dismissed from the formation, he looked down at his uniform and just frowned. He felt like a fool in it, but then he looked over at the Elysian.

His frown turned into a strange smile as he watched him trying to communicate with Lime. He couldn't hear what he was saying, but he had an idea. Not the right idea, but one none the less. Done with that, he looked for Kiko and went right over to her.

"Congrats of the promotion." Mikael said to her, tugging at his uniform.

Hanako went around giving out hugs to any Eucharis member in range. Eventually she made her way to some of the newer members. "Manabu! Next time you will be up front!" she grinned. "And Ben and Michael, congratulations on your first promotions!"

Next, Hanako went to Helen. "The science vessel managed to transmit a summarized report on the YSS Miharu probe data. In it is the Miharu's secret destination and some other information. We also learned that a week before the Fourth Fleet won at Bizankro, three SMX flagships departed the shipyards there with a large fleet. They are the same type that Melisson used to destroy the Taiie system and to drop the moon on Lor. According to MEGAMI's interpretation, the UOC blackout is probably caused locally by a generator in each system that is located 'above' their suns and powered by them. The generator has stealth systems including a mass mesher type device. It is likely that the ships that attacked us were from a unit being organized to attack the remaining UOCPF strong points. Do you agree?"

Meanwhile, Lime said, "Okay!" to Michael.

Chiharu Medical Center

As Sune followed the path to the medical center. "Your sister could not be in better hands, Nayacesen-Heisho. According to the information I accessed earlier, the Star Fortress recently upgraded their medical facilities to a state of the art hospital center. I understand that this has been rather sudden, but have you given any thought to arrangements for your sister?" He asked Takeyu as he sent a query to the Chiharu's AI as to what room Layven was in.

"Your sister is on Level 3, Ward A, we need to take a lift up to that level." he said.

Chiharu Medical Center

"When I talked with Yaichiro-Chusa earlier about my sister, he told me that she may be able to stay at a place he owns. I'll be talking to him later today to see if that's still a possibility," he looked at the medical facility and had to marvel at it's enginuity.

He looked at the query and nodded approvingly, she was being well treated. Though he had no idea if that was because she was a family member, a free'd slave, or if it just a customery.

"Did the medical staff say whether she had any serious injuries brought on by her treatment from the slavers?" he asked

Kiko went through all the motions of the promotion ceremony as she had been commanded to, though her mind was still reeling with surprise. The promotion didn't really change her relative status on the Eucharis, but she appreciated the recognition nonetheless. She returned Hanako's hug with a quiet "thank you, ma'am" and allowed herself a little smile after a glance around to be sure nobody was watching. She turned and bowed to Mikael when she felt the hand on her sleeve. "Thank you, sir. Congratulations on your promotion as well," she said calmly.

Toshiro responded to Takeyu, via text, while overhearing Hanako and Helen's discussion next to him since he was next to the Shosa in formation:

Code:
Something is coming up that I need to discuss with the Taisa, but your sister is more than welcome to stay at my place, as long as she is okay with living under the same roof as a former Ketsurui Samurai. One of my old superiors who used to be Hanako-Taisa's samurai until she became a POW.

"Whoa, easy on the use of the word sir around me. Haven't even hit NCO let alone commissioned officer." Mikael said, slightly laughing. He crossed his arms, and looked to the right side in thought.

"Hmm..that might require a transfer though. No room for an infantry officer on this ship." He said more silently, but enough for Kiko to hear.

"Anyways, I am going to get into something more comfortable and try to find the Simulators around here. Need to practice my marksmanship. Haven't done it in awhile. And the way the squiddies and clones fight, it's more important then ever. Care to join?"

"Yes, Harris-hei," Kiko said in the exact same tone as she'd say "yes, sir." She didn't say anything about his assertion that he might need to transfer to make officer rank. She'd have preferred that he stay, but she didn't really know him well enough to feel comfortable saying so. She considered his offer for a few seconds. "If that would be all right, Harris-hei," she finally said.

Mikael just sighed when Kiko replied back to his Sir comment. At least she said Hei instead of the full rank, there is hope for her yet. He phased out a bit while he was thinking. He tuned back in just in time to hear her response.

"Well let the fun commence. Just going to let the Taisa know and I will meet you at the store here once I am changed. Should make for a good rally point." He said to Kiko.

He walked over to where Hanako was standing and bowed about 8 feet from here. "Unless there is something else that needs to be done ma'am, Inoue-Hei and myself will do some marksmanship training once we find the facilities to do so on the Chiharu." He said as he stood at attention. He still feeled like a fool in the uniform, he could only imagine what he looked like at that moment.
