RP: Yome Ismâopate Mission 3.1 New Traditions

La'tâ sat back and let out a soft relaxed sigh, it was not every day that she got shore leave and even more so in such an interesting place. She was excited, more so than she had been for a while, and it showed, her always perfect posture came undone, her shoulders relaxed as she sat back and she even had a soft smile on her face. "This will be a time to remember..." She turned her attention towards the two baqli. "Make sure to enjoy yourselves to the fullest, but that also means not doing anything risky that gets you hurt, because then you fun will end early with you in a cast."

Sogi looked at La'tâ, "We're just here to have fun. Not going to do anything crazy. We've had enough time in a medical center. That's not a fun way to spend our time here."

The Ground Glider slowed and moved off the main thorough fare. It then pulled into the driveway of the facility the group was going to stay at. There was a lot of activity visible. The parking areas were filled with people making their way from their vehicles to to the building. The ground glider pulled up to the main entrance and came to a stop. The doors opened, and Keyul stood up.

"Sogi, Tota, stay close don't want you wandering off or getting lost before we get to our rooms. The rest of you kindly follow me, and I will get your room passes taken care of." He said grabbing his bag and stepping off.

The two baqli grabbed their bags and waved to Murr, La'tâ and Memi. "See you later. " They said in unison.

The trio wove through the traffic and walked up to the reception desk. Keyul showed his identification, and his credit chit. After a few minutes, the representative handed him several bundles. He turned and handed Tota and Sogi their room cards. "Go on up, I"ll join you in a few."

He then moved away from the desk and waited for the others.

Murr let Keyul and the two Baqli leave first. She grabbed her travel kit and departed the Ground Glider. She moved through the other visiters to the place into the motel, standing off to the side out of the main traffic flow not to impede anyone going through the bottle neck of the main doors. She took in the energetic atmosphere and the myriad of conversations going on around them. The easy laughter between groups and couples. The young as they scampered under paw of the adults with sounds of delight and excitement of what they were doing and future plans.

Murr looked over the place and saw several toms looking her way with interest as they conversed quietly amongst themselves. She quickly checked them out, out of habit, whether they represented a threat or not. She dismissed them as other sounds and visual stimuli caught her attention. The pleasant announcements from the p.a system announced departures to various activities, paging someone to go pick up the proper colored curtesy phone and assistance for some patron or calling someone back to registration desk for some forgotten business.

La'tâ smiled to the baqli at their response and nodded. Once they arrived though she let them be on their way as she collected her luggage and made her way over. The number of people around did not bother her, in fact she some what blended in when she got close to the crowd, her presence was shallow, almost non existent until she got right next to Keyul and then spoke up. "Thank you for arranging the rooms, however you do not have to watch the baqli on your own, if you want some alone time just tell me and I can watch them for you, I understand that is a popular thing for males on shore leave."

Keyul smiled at La'tâ. "I do not mind keeping an I on Tota and Sogi. With the things we have seen, and they have been through. I gives me hope when I see them playing. I seem to recall that you are on shore leave as well. " he said handing her an envelope. "Your room key, passes to events. And a charge card from Qaedal 1,000 OW. Part of your share for the reward of capturing the traitors. I'll be taking them to the north hill for some fun after we secure our stuff in our rooms."

Keyul had watched Murr's demeanor, he noted that she was still very much in assessment. He walked over to her and handed her an envelope. He then used her paw-speak to tell her what was in it. He then added, "Relax Murr, we are off duty and have more than earned some time to relax and have fun. It is unlikely that anything untoward will happen to you here."

He motioned for the baqli and they followed him to the lift. They stepped in and stood beside him. He inserted his room key card into the lift and it illuminated the 23rd floor. "Coming ladies or taking another lift?" He called.

Murr gave a smile as she accepted the envelope. She nodded to Keyul assessment of her. It was hard after being keyed up. She paw-spoke to Keyul. :: I'll catch another one. :: She slung her kit over her shoulder and moved off towards another set of lifts. Pausing long enough at small kiosk selling refreshments to get something to nibble on. Get the feel of the atmosphere and being around others that weren't part of the Yome Ismaopate's Pride.

This gave her time to extract the necessary cards to grant her access to her rooms on the proper level. Also to let her take a look at what was accessible and what she would have to pay for if she struck out on her own.

La'tâ gently took the envelope and smiled to Keyul "Well I am on leave yes, but I'd feel bad if I left you with all the responsibility." She glanced in the envelope, pleasantly surprised at the contents as Keyul listed them. the pay was well timed too. She looked between Murr and Keyul as they separated however and then gave a soft nod as she looked at Keyul.

"I will catch up with you later. A little girl talk." She smiled and gave a wave to the three in the lift before heading off in Murr's direction to get a snack along with her. "Not really used to crowds like this?"

Murr looked up at La'ta after going through the packet. She quickly paw-spoke, :: Nope. There seams to be more people here than back in the home dome where I'm from. ::

Her ears twitching at sounds and voices all around her. As she looked over the milling crowds in the vast open space of the lobby of the Resort.

One of the events that Murr would find was a social mixer. It was set for when most of the outdoor activities were winding down. The brochure recommended that those interested in the gathering should register in advance. Another later event was a planetary survival course focusing on navigating by the local stars, and then how to make a shelter.

A moment later there was a bright flash from outside. Through the high windows of the lobby a pyrotechnic display could be seen in the sky. A moment later and another device was fired up creating another pattern.

La'tâ gave a nod to Murr's 'words' and looked around for a possible place to sit. "I'm not too used to this many people as well, some of the events might be even more crowded though. Will you be okay with that?" She takes the time to look through her packet as well but is a little startled by the fireworks display, looking up quickly at it. "Oh pyrotechnics...they're rather beautiful."

Murr reacted quickly to the flash of light from the pyrotechnic display. The envelope / packet was dropped to the floor, forgotten as a paw went to her side for a non-existence weapon as she slid between the bar and the chair she had chosen to sit on.

She quickly accessed the situation. Seeing no-one reacting adversely to the fireworks being displayed. She slowly rose from her position and retrieved the packet from the floor. Her drink landed on the floor, forgotten and spilled. The glass was kicked someplace out of sight in her scramble for protection.

Several more of the pyrotechnics streaked upwards, and most of the crowd was held mesmerized by them. Baqli made their way closer to the windows to see better.

Meanwhile a pair of Qaktoro approached Murr and La'tâ. They were wearing overcoats that were open showing clothes of a shimmering blue. They stopped and each held out a hand with the palm facing to the crew members. "Apote, is your companion alright? Your first time here for the festivals?" the female asked. The two of them had beige fur with brown spots, almond shaped blue-green eyes and sandy skin. Showing that they were most likely siblings.

Murr flinched each time there was a flash and eyes darted upward to see the blossoming display of fireworks. She took in the two as they approached between the glances upward as if expecting all that glass to shatter and rain down on the unsuspecting patrons of the Resort. She nudged La'ta and signed real quick to her :: Ask them for me if the pyrotechnics happen every night here. ::

La'tâ shook hands with the two Qaktoro in front of her. She then glanced at Murr after their question. "Yes, she is just not used to such a display. She's wondering if this will happen every night here as well." She looked the two over, appraising them as she tried to decipher if maybe they were staff here or just friendly visitors as well.

"No, this is their Tâjya'pa event; they like the big pyrotechnics to remind people of the battles that have been fought for our freedom. Apologies, for my error in manners. I am Yoitoar, and my vymaor'a is Raer. This is our second time here. The display will be over in about 20 tui'sai. If you wish we could walk with you to the lounge. The noise and flares are not as noticeable there." He suggested pointing to the Lounge entrance on the other side of the lobby.

Murr nodded her agreement once two introduced themselve. She quickly made sure she wasn't leaving anything behind. She slung the strap to her travel kit over her head to run diagonally across her body and the kit bag itself rested above her tail.

Using her wrist computer and speech balloon for her texting so the two new comers could see and read. :: I'm Murr Whisk of the Yome Ismaopate. This is my Ismaopate Pridemate, La'ta. :: Letting them know that La'ta was held in high respect with her and fellow crew of the ship they both served on and been out on Hunts (missions) together.

La'tâ gave a soft nod to Yoitoar's explanation. "Yes, I think the lounge would be appropriate. Explosions are a bit too stress for after our last mission." She let Murr handle the introductions since she seemed to want to do it, and it helped her open up a bit more. "By the way, does it usually snow here? Or is that special just for this festival?"

As they crossed the foyer, Yoitoar replied to La'tâ's query. "Âmuar enjoys a cooler climate that most of our people enjoy. The summers here are comfortable except along the equator. The winters are a bit challenging; lasting 3-4 months. It does snow frequently here. Especially since this settlement is north of the equator. But the snow is essential to the festivities. This resort specializes in activities through the winter, and then changes them for the rest of the year. They even have a few facilities where they can create winter like weather for their guests."

Raer watched as Murr gatherer her possessions. He did a second glance to ensure she did not forget anything. "I think you will like the lounge, not as noisy and busy. A good place to talk with friends or to make friends."

As the group stepped into the Lounge and the doors closed, the sounds of the crowd, pyrotechnics were muted. Soft music was playing from a number of hidden speakers.

Raer waved to one of the staff. "Yoitoar and I have some new friends. Warm beverages for all of us at our usual table. He navigated the room with practiced ease and when he arrived at the table pulled out several chairs for his friend and guest. He took a seat in the built in bench and took in the room.

Murr tagged along and was grateful to be in a more quieted area. She took in the Lounge with a practiced glance. She smiled at hearing the music which muted the pyrotechnics going on outside, even more. She listened as she relaxed as there was a lot less patrons in the Lounge.

As Murr took the seat on the bench seat next to Raer, she slid her kit off to the side and removed the strap to set it on the floor next to her. The lounge was definitely a lot better than the more crowded Lobby. With her back to the wall, Murr relaxed a bit as also took in the surrounding more in depth.

The lounge was broken into areas based on function. A small dance area was over near a place where Nuita'ai could perform. There were alcoves like the one the group was sitting that consisted of a built in bench a table and chairs. A sound dampening wall was on either side of the bench, which helped with speaking and privacy.

There were stand alone octagonal tables in the center of the room with Buvoli Ovume or Buvoli Vakame. Above all the people floating just a bit below the ceiling holographic objects flitted about and changed shape. Some looked like a flock of birds only to change into a school of fish.
