RP: YSS Heartbreaker [Mission 3] Call My Name And It Feels Like Home

Ayame-class Cruiser, Bridge

As Skade rushed through the door of the bridge, Aether-Sabre drawn and lit, she was happy to see that all of her crewmates were still alive, though Edtoto looked the worse for wear. The Technician raised her weapon at the rebooting android, hey, I did something useful, and was about to close the distance and cut the thing’s head off, before the Taii showed up on the screen. Huh? The Neko thought in confusion as she stopped her advance to listen to her captain. What is she…oh. So that’s what they were looking for. Good job, Ochiko.

Instead, Skade turned off her weapon and looked at Ingrid as she gave her instructions. “Okay, the way out, without digging through any more debris,” which no one looks in the shape of doing right now, “is going down a maintenance shaft, then going up an access tube from Engineering to the docking ring. It’s a long walk, but hopefully we won’t have any more issues.” Girl. Stop jinxing yourself and your crewmates.

The Neko was about to follow the android out of the door, when she heard the Vekimen’s plea for her gear. She replied, “I got your stuff, Edtoto,” and headed back into the bridge. Picking up the alien’s helmet, she put it in her butt pack and pulled out the roll of Molecure tape she had stored in it. Tapping on Sara’s shoulder, the Technician asked, “Can I see that arm for a second?” After getting permission, she took the tape and quickly sealed the bloody stump of the severed limb. Handing the limb back to the Infantrywoman, Skade made her way to the front of the group, patting Ingrid on the back on her way, and approached the Vekimen and her mount.

“Hey, Edtoto,” she said, pulling out her tape. “I’m going to patch you up, until we can get you to the med bay, okay?” Whether or not she got an answer, the technician taped up the bleeding stump of the alien’s arm. “Oh, by the way, do you want your helmet back?” the Neko asked, trying to get the alien at least comfortable on her sudden ride. What was this android called again? Something Zuko?

Ayame-class Cruiser, Bridge

The Captain's expression lightened by just a hair as the android stood down. She nodded in return to the salute, watching the machine switch from foe to friend without any trace of confusion, apprehension or remorse. She let out a soft grunt as it updated her on the ship's condition. "Thank you for your report. Proceed to the shuttle under Masahiga-Hei's direction. You will act under the temporary rank of Yonto Hei and follow the commands of all crew members of higher rank." Seeming satisfied with the current situation, Tsukisaki's image disappeared as the main screen powered down.

Edtoto was injured, light-headed, but stabilized for the moment. The tape was not a permanent solution by any means, so a speedy return to the Heartbreaker was certainly advised. Cosima Medici, the de facto foremost authority on Vekimen physiology in Star Army, was likely the only one of them that had any idea how to help the alien at this point. Veronika had helped her partner to her feet, and Bettie was now ready to wobble after the others, strength slowly returning as she recovered similarly to Sara.

"All attempts to interact with the ship's computer remotely were initially rebuffed, as it assured Ochiko and myself that the ranking crew member on board had initiated a full lockdown." The team, except for the android, could hear their Captain's communication directly. "Our efforts to regain control from a hostile intruder failed, because it was not hostile and had not intruded at all. It had properly followed all protocol to gain control of the systems as the last remaining crew member officially assigned to this vessel. Ochiko was finally able to force approval of my credentials, certification and command when it was temporarily expelled from the network."

The crew members noticed lights flicking back off as they exited each room, corridor and tunnel. The hum of power in the ship around them starting to grow quieter. "All non-essential systems will be shut down as you exit the Ayame-class cruiser. Ochiko will be conducting a full scan of the computer systems, data backups and crew logs before we turn this vessel over to the Seisenkyo for further examination. Android, you will also follow Masahiga-Hei to report to Chief Engineer Linn for a full diagnostic analysis." They all heard this final communication as they neared the shuttle, docked at a lower airlock near Engineering. Skade had noticed the android's outer shell stitching itself together during their trip, although she could tell by the way it moved that there was still internal damage it was unable to self repair while active.
