RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 9.0] Flight into Darkness

Akemi looked at the group, " Each fighter will be equipped with two Ke-Z1, the rest of your load out is at your discretion. Although I strongly advise against anyone choosing to go all torpedoes. You should include some counter measures."

Akemi looked over where Elisto was standing.

"Scrapyard, you are rather quiet. As number two of the squadron do you have anything you wish to share, or say to the team?"

While waiting for Elisto to respond, Errowyn motioned her crew chief over to her. Once her crew chief joined her, spoke. "Two Ke-Z1's, three quarters offensive, one quarter counter measures," to her waiting crew chief.

"Not your full offensive load, Hellcat?" Chief spoke quietly not interfere with her briefing.

Errowyn nodded and the chief scampered off to set up her combat load for this mission.

Akemi looked around seeing that the group was now quiet. "Okay team, unless anyone has anymore questions. Get in your fighter and complete your start up and pre-flight. We will be moving into launch position once everyone is ready."

Hanger

Errowyn was off like a shot and pausing briefly next to her Kawarime crew chief. "Every thing good?"

"Check," Chief nodded as the rest of the crew removed the safety pins from the loaded anti-ship missiles.

"Munitions?" As she climbed up into her waiting Kawarine and settled in the seat.

"Check and ready," Chief nodded assisted her fastening her seat straps.

Errowyn did a quick coms check with the YSS Heiten, as she powered up her Kawarime as the canopy closed.

"Bring back my Kawarime in one piece, Hellcat!" Chief yelled over the noise of her Kawarime warming up.

Errowyn gave her chief the thumbs up, nodding to be moved to launch position.

Over the 21rst freq, "Hellcat ready!" with a soft purr heard in the background. She finished up her checks as she waited.

Hanger

Elisto hadn't said anything when asked, mostly because he was getting his thoughts together. When he saw Errowyn run off, the man blinked and then looked at Akemi. "Ma'am, the rescue op that was suggested," he said and pushed off the wall and walked out of the darkened area of the place. "A single shuttle, piloted by perhaps myself or another operative with a small squadron of soldiers might be able to get onto the station and rescue anyone whom is still alive before the main attack is launched. Especially if we use falsified codes to make us appear to be an NMX team." He didn't like the idea of disguising as NMX, but he was an operative and sometimes you just had to do things you didn't like.

Anne listened to what Elisto said. "I like that plan ma'am." Anne nodded, she looked at Siliv, then Elisto and then back at Akemi. "I think me and Tinman could do this. He can pilot anything, and the prisoners mind need medical attention. They will most likely need medical attention. Besides I do not think we have anyone better at kicking NMX butts then Silic in the squadron. Even if his ways are a bit.... nepleslian."

Hanger : Kawarime 5

Errowyn, glanced over at the group still gathered around Akemi, wondered if she had left to early. Keeping the canopy open, She continued doing a more in-depth systems checks on her Kawarime. Wondering if there was a change in plans. She removed her helmet to hear better over the whine of her aerospace fighter. She was itching to get back into the fray.

Silic raised a finger to make a thoughtful and constructive point in the conversation.

"I-wait-what?"

His eyes turned to look back at Anne with a hurt and panicked look in his accusing eyes. Get a Red Tessen or two and people suddenly think you're badass, but Silic had probably survived all the squads current close combat encounters by sheer luck and the speed of his legs than anything skill-related.

His eyes turned to Akemi in panic, clearly communicating Please don't make me do this even without telepathy. Such was Silic's shock that he was still rigid in his finger raised pose.

Akemi listened to Elisto and Anne's discussion on committing to a rescue mission. Silic's plaintive expression made it clear what he thought of this idea.

She turned to Elisto. "So Scrapyard you are wanting us to mount a rescue mission, committing soldiers, and a shuttle. And what am I supposed to tell the brass as a reason for this request? Because for all we know, everyone onboard that Tenba is already dead, or worse."

Akemi paused and looked around, "Perhaps we could get them to sanction the mission, but with a different primary objective. This shipyard probably has information about NMX forces, ship's that have been there. So if you want to lead a team in, let's make it for intelligence gathering, and as a secondary mission you can rescue any prisoners you find that are still alive.

Tin-Man, you up for that?"

"I also had another idea," Anne said, thinking it strange that this idea came from her. "If we are going in to take things, we can also leave something there. For example an armed aether torpedo. It could bolster the attack, or possibly if the integrity of the station is not very good, it could save us a lot of troubles. Scrapyard knows how to work bombs all too well. I think it would be doable, if we are going there anyway."

Kawarime 5 / Hanger

Errowyn smiled at least they was discussing the situation as she hit the release of her safety straps, hitting switches to place her Kawarime on stand by. She climbed out and to join the group again. Moving closer, with a shrug to her ground chief.

Crew chief shook her head and secured the Kawarime from flight as Hellcat rejoined the group, looking them all over.

"We gonna shoot up a NMX Base or rescue the Scientist?" Errowyn coming to a stop as joined the circle of pilots. "Or both?"

Hangar

Akemi looked over at Errowyn, "Seems some of our fellows want to take on some extra objectives. We are just discussing how best to approach the idea. Then I get to sell it to the brass." she said in response her question.

Hanger

Errowyn looked thoughtful. "We do have the Emeralds aboard the Heiten." Speaking slowly, "Could draw from them the extra personnel.... to support the attack as a diversionary tactic from different ingress points... While the Diamonds with Daisy's on a Raccoon T7 Shuttle with fighter escort. To penetrate the station..." Another pause as she thought this out carefully, "Only if there was a Plumeria Gunship available....." Shrugs, "for Intelligence and rescue of the scientist. It would be a boost in morale proving that NMX are not invincible as everyone makes them out to be. It would be a strategic and tactical strike proving that the NMX bases are just as vulnerable as their fleet, proving that no where is safe for them."

Errowyn fell quiet in mild surprise at the lengthy speech she just gave. "I'd like to visit the med bay for a back-up...." Looking worried, "Unless I'm in my fighter....." looking hopeful. At least she felt good at least giving those Scientist a fighting chance and their families knowledge of what happened to them.

Kotone nervously made her way inside the hangar, hopefully looking for a group of people that she would recognize as part of the 21st Squadron. Here she was, about to embark on her first mission and already she's so late! Geez, they probably already discussed the mission parameters and then she would be horribly lost as everyone handles their part of the operation.

Upon locating the V8 Kawarime, she hurried her pace to catch up and (she crossed her fingers) listen to the last bits of the conversation concerning the mission. She finally neared them and as some of the members noticed her, she blew her long bangs out of her right eye and offered a timid smile. "K-Kawane Kotone, reporting for the 21st Squadron Fighting Diamonds. I look forward to working with you..."

Hanger

Errowyn looked over the newest member of the squad, gave her a quick smile, eyes remain cold as emeralds, giving her the once over. She spoke softly, "Welcome to the 21rst." Then falling quiet as she turned her attention to the rest of the squad.

She started at the voice, and looked over to see the person close to the Kawarime. She nodded her head in gratitude, but it seemed she already turned her attention to the others--which is what she needed to do right now. Still. Quite nice that someone noticed her; she can already feel her tension easing up a bit.

"Welcome Kawane-Santo Hei. I am Tamahagane Akemi-Santo Juni. Welcome to the 21st. I'm the current commander. Call sign Blade." she said when she saw Kotone.

"I do not know if the CO will go for having the Emeralds join us. I also do not know if there is another gravity tube that leads in that they could take. But it can not hurt to ask. Although for the shuttle contingent, I would rather we get some Infantry to back up that team. " she said then turned her attention to Silic.

"Tin Man, I am going to leave it to your discretion. You can join Elisto and Anne as the T7 pilot, or your can stay and fly your V8. That assignment is volunteer only."

"What about the bomb Ma'am?" Anne asked Akemi, after giving a nod of greeting to the newest arrival. "I mean, infantry will probably have something of their own, but we have all these nice torpedoes, that would serve really well." A doctor speaking about such tools of destruction was interesting. Anne herself did not exactly liked talking about it, but the problem was that it could work.

"I'm sure the deck crew can sneak one aboard the T7," Errowyn smiled a bit predatory at Anne. "Stuff tend to get displaced in battle and all this confusion." Waving a hand to take in the busy pre-launch flight deck.

"Well, I wouldn't be an operative if I didn't take into account the prospects of going after intelligence while also seeing about recuing possible survivors ma'am," grinned Elisto, it was his intention even if he hadn't mentioned it to go after intelligence as well, anything that could help their cause and lead to potential future missions to strike out against the NMX was just fine in his book. Upon hearing the mention of a bomb, the grin on Elisto's face broadened and most people would see that he was ecstatic at that idea. "Sneaking a bomb onboard, then strapping it to one of the bases power systems, setting it to go off just after our main force arrives.... hmm... oh yea, lots of confusion then, power would be out and their defenses would be down, would be ripe for our forces and they'd be able to pummel the base," he was rubbing his chin, that grin still there.
