RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 9.2] Charging into uncertainty.

Weland began to shiver in fright. Two gunships, mines, and another destroyer. This was something different, the flak these things could put out could turn his fighter into a speck of dust in the dark vacuum of space. But he knew he was a pilot with a job. He gunned his engines through a previously cleared section of the minefield. He was twitching silently knowing he was going to break down when he landed. He aimed at the second Ripper gunship and began firing at its engines. He he were to die today, he would die with the enemy's blood on his hands. Honor through battle.

As he started to get closer to a better aiming distance, Weland fired his cannons in a controlled contested stream towards the drive system.

Kayo ignored Errowyn's call to get away. Blade had given her orders and she was going to follow them. She flipped a switch, "Let's see if Silic's modifications work in a crunch." She said to herself as the juked and swerved to avoid incoming fire. She then fired her last KE-Z1, "Fox One, Torpedo fired to detonate proximity between the ships. She banked and started strafing the first ripper as she changed trajectory.

Akemi listened to Errowyn's call as the rest of the group followed her towards the destroyer. She keyed her mike, "Wildcat, you better stay alive. I haven't given you permission to die. You die I have a ton of extra paperwork to fill out. And for the record filling out paperwork puts me in a really bad mood." she said conveying her sentiments in a mocking fashion. When the mic was off. 'Hope she and Kayo are okay.' she thought.

"Alright Diamonds, we are going to target the battle pod bay and the engines. Need to pull her teeth before things get out of hand. Shields to attack run configuration. Full shields and threshold in front." She sent as she altered course.

Shredder / Kawarime Battle::

"Hellcat! It's Hellcat!" Errowyn growled back over squad tactical frequency, as her IFF displayed showed one of the newcomers taking on the second gunship by him/hers - self.

Errowyn was dismayed at seeing one of the newcomers had actually followed Kayo and herself to take on a Shredder Gunships. It was expected of her to be a bit ambitious and lead into the fray with announced intentions. At least others knew what she was doing at any given moment. She was living up to her reputation as an aggressive fighter.

~~ *Giggles* You're a fine one to talk, Hellcat/Erry~~ Flittered through her mind. ~~Wandering off by yourself~~

Errowyn growled out, "At least I know what to expect!" The truth had hit her. For her 'Ghosts" were correct. She was setting a bad example for the newcomers. ~~But Dammit, someone has to show them how to do it properly at least.~~ In her own weird way she did work as a teammate. She just drew enemy fire at her first, giving time for those following a chance to learn and succeed.

She poured Aether Cannon fire into the Shredder Gunship as she flew past it at a high rate of speed, re-aligning the strengths of the shielding towards heavily threaten areas of her Kawarime. Lessing the rest to lighter shielding to conserve power.

She was worried about the rest of the Sqadron that was on the shuttle going after the SSS personnel. Maybe she should've kept her mouth shut and then everyone would be here in their Kawarimes adding to the fire power of the unit.

Destoyer Battle

Akemi continued to close on the Destroyer, waiting for the optimum firing solution. She took a fraction of a second to make sure that Kawano and Weyland were still with her. "Keep a tight formation you two. I'm sending you your firing coordinates. Fifteen seconds and we fire our remaining torpedo. Make sure they count. Because after that its guns and countermeasures until the beast dies or we wound it enough it can't do anything."

On their HUDS the targeting data supplied by Akemi appeared.

Shredder Battle

Kayo fired her cannons at the same Shredder as Hellcat, but she chose to strafe the opposite side of it with her shields modulated to protect her. As she streaked away with a thought she realigned the shields to cover her aft. A few moments later she was positioned off her wingman's side. "You do know that Blade calls the shots and she can call you want she wants. I am sure she has a reason for calling you what she did. For now though we should concentrate on taking out those Shredder s, ready to make another pass. "

Weland carefully twitched his flight stick and throttle to put his craft in a nice arc towards the firing solution and into a nice right hand formation with Akemi. He finally calmed down enough to stop shaking focus on fighting. As he keyed his mic, he grinned. "Let's put this beast down." He proceeded to fixate his craft on a steady flight path and waited until Akemi's torpedo launched and then he would make his move.

Shedder Battle

Errowyn purrred in responce to Kayo remark, making adjustments. Hopefully the first Shredder was dead as she increased speed to catch the second Shredder and tear into it with her Aether Cannons trying to drill through the Gunship's shields to weaken it so she could punch a torpedo through as she was down to the lighter payload torpedoes.

Seeing that newcomer had rejoined Akemi group, she was relieved and became more focused on the job at hand. Seeing that Kayo was experienced by her actions was another worry laid to rest.

Destroyer Battle

On the HUDs the firing solution adjusted and then the tactical systems locked on. "Fox one" Akemi called out as she launched her Ke-Z1 which streaked towards the warship. She adjusted her trajectory and engage her cannons to strafe the warship. She jinked and juked her fighter to make it hard for the ship to get a clear shot.

Shredder Battle

Kayo added her strafing to Errowyn's . The side of the Shredder was being pierced by the destructive energy. Several of the hits struck something internal as plasma began to vent. The two attack craft started firing their cannons at the Kawarime. But given their trajectory the second Shredder had no clear shot.

Shedder Battle

Errowyn darted her Kawarime between the two Shredder Gunship, hopefully they will still continue to fire on her as she changed vectors at random with urgency, hoping that the gunners on the two Shredders whont guess right and end up shooting each other.

With one Shredder leaking plasma into space, Errowyn shot 1 of her defensive flares into venting plasma to ignite it, as she zipped past the venting plasma, using the Shredder Gunship weakness against itself.

Shredder

Errowyn was rewarded with a satisfying explosion that blew a large section of hull away from the Gunship. Kayo fired a volley from her aether cannon into the void created by Errowyn's explosion.

Shredder Gunship Battle

Errowyn yeowled in delight as she struck out probing fire into the second Shredder Gunship as she whipped her Kawarime around for another run. She took stock of the missile count and it didn't look to good.

She letting them know she still remembered them and they was next in line. She flew randomly to avoid weapons fire as there wasn't much she could do about being 'painted' by enemy radar. She suddenly slowed down and sped up as soon as she realized she was falling into a pattern and switch the zigs with the zags along the 'x' (horizontal) axis adding various vertical movement to the 'y' axis.

Errowyn struck heavily with her aether cannons on the now severly crippled Shredder Gunship through the gap in the hull as she pass by. She was conserving what missiles she had left for the second Shredder Gunship and hopefully the station.
