What are the SARP places and/or events you would most like to see illustrated? I'm going to pick some, based on our ideas. One of the ideas from this thread will be the new "cover art" of the site.

Here's some brainstorming ideas I had:

  • 1. The Battle of Yamatai
    2. A group of Nekovalkyrja standing outside the open rear cargo bay door of a Plumeria-class gunship in the rain.
    3. Downtown Kyoto
    4. A squad of DAISY-clad Nekos fight Ripper power armor.
    5. A group of Nepleslian marines opening one of their famous ration packs during some downtime.
    6. A Nekovalkyrja cloning center
    7. A battle scene with Gartagens on Ether
    8. A street battle from Taking It Back or NSS Altomir
    9. A logistics/cargo moving scene from Nataria Depot
    10. Resorts, beaches, and railways at Hanako's World

Feel free to comment on the scenes I come up with, too.

The illustrations we pick together will be commissioned. I am considering Atomhawk Design.

1: Samurai jumping at Misshu with her katana/nodachi hold with both hands above her head. How about that Wes?

4: Hostile armour with Mindy siting on his shoulders that points forward like she would call to advance!

The Internet Relay Chat? That could be...interesting...especially if the picture uses other people's interpretations of ourselves.

The International Relations Conference would also be interesting. Probably not as a send-up of the Last Supper painting (that's beginning to be cliche), but a similar format -- maybe 3/4s overhead view? -- would look neat : )
 
Here are my ideas at the moment


1. A D-Day Normandy beach type battle with members of each active faction assaulting a Misshu held point. Plenty of blood, guts and glory and explosions
2. I like the IRC idea, but perhaps with the people in one of the Warm and Sweet coffee shops
3. One of the concourses of a Zodiac Star Fortress with all the amenities.
 
In no particular order of preference...

1. A scene of each starship captain from a major faction sitting in a chair and commanding/overseeing their bridge and vessel - or actively giving orders.
<Yam. Taisa> "Code red, all units scramble and take off. That is an order."
<Nep. Captain> "Starboard torpedoes, FIRE! Marines, watch your flanks!"
<NMX Superior Commander> "We're in position. On my signal, we raise hell."
<Ind. Luca> "Keep cruising on autopilot and suit up, we'll find out what it is once we get to it."

2. GUNS! A wall of them or a line of characters from different factions firing their choice armaments. (unpowered characters wielding power armour weapons and firing them)
3. Nepleslian marines taking time off and relaxing with cohorts.
4. A Nepleslian pub brawl.
5. The International Relations Conference, a-la Uso's suggestion.
6. "Alright, they're bringing the fight to us! I can work with this!"
 
Can we agree that the first one should be some sort of ground (eg people, not spaceships) scene?
 
A bar scene between Nepleslians of much variety would effectively depict the other half of their setting beyond combat.
 
I talked a little to *Shimmering-Sword about getting some scenes done but I haven't got prices yet.
 
On a related note, I found a really great planetary artist.

What planets would you guys like to see illustrated?

Is this a Planet Artist, or one who draws scenes on planets? Because the ones I listed save for Hlarai and Fortuna have landscape scenes.
 
I'm talking about the actual planets, as viewed from space. Though scenes of the surface are also great, since they show what the PCs would see.
 
I think it would actually be pretty awesome to see if we could get art of the artificial city inside Dawn Station, with its odd juxtaposition of real greenery, synthetic lighting, suburbs, and mega-structures supporting the roof.
 
You know, I've always thought it'd be wicked cool for each plot to have a 'last supper' style picture with the full group hanging out in a memorable location and everyone doing something characteristic of their particular character.

I.E. ISC Phoenix crew hanging out in the lounge of the Crimson Kestrel, Cirrus Station's favorite security squad finishing up a patrol, Fort Ready graduation ceremony group photo, etc.
 
Since Masumi got hit, I desperately want a picture of her looking at those blood droplets as they froze in space with the computer core and Kuvexian space station in disarray behind her.
