"I think I may have a simpler idea," Candon offered as he came to stand in front of her Mindy, "the M2-4 is by far the best Mindy for close quarters engagements. No system modifications are going to improve your reaction timing, you just need more time in the suit. Learn to move in sync with your grav drive and pretty soon you'll be moving as fast as you can think."
The volumetric projectors came online as he made a telepathic connection through the armor rack.
"So here's what I'm thinking, you want to get close, right? That's easy, the teleporter can hold its charge after being primed for hours but needs a couple minutes to recharge
unless we mount an
M2-G3000 Shoulder Capacitor."
A three-dimensional wireframe representation of the corresponding capacitor appeared on the right shoulder hardpoint.
"It'll refresh your teleporter in something like two seconds, it's amazing. Now you can double cycle your teleporter essentially enabling you to hit and run.
"Now some quick theory about building your combat rig, there are two directions you can go in terms of Firepower. The first is generally called damage over time or DPS if you're a gamer like Masumi. These builds are best for Gunners or General Infantry who expect to be caught in an extended firefight. On the other end of the spectrum you find rigs like mine that focus on delivering as much damage in as short a time as possible, I call it damage per salvo. The problem with this type of build is that your damage output is not sustainable.
"So with the basics down let's finish this build. You're going to want to get in and out of engagements as quickly as possible, I'm going to recommend a salvo focused build. Nothing kills an enemy PA faster than driving a
saber rifle straight into its reactor. Best part is that when you're not hit and running it's extremely versatile. If you keep it's battery topped off through your forearm cable you'll never have to worry about ammo consumption. I believe this would be your best choice for a primary weapon."
Another volumetric wireframe model appeared next to the armor.
"As for the open shoulder I suggest the
M2-W3001 Aetheric Pulse Cannon. There's no point teleporting into a group of enemies if you're not close enough to use this. Set it to automatically target and engage whatever you aren't attacking. You may be able to get a second kill with it or at least get some heads down.
The wireframe image appeared on the left shoulder.
"Now assuming nothing goes wrong during your 'hit' the running part should be easy, but just in case something goes wrong it may be helpful to have an
M2-P2904 Barrier Shield Module equipped and active. It can take a beating so you don't have to."
A wireframe of the barrier Shield module appeared on the back of the armor suit, not easily visible but still there.
