ON: Nepleslia Prime
A group of fifty-some SMX ships appeared within the Nebula to the north of Nepleslia prime, it was spontaneous, it was swift, and within a second of their arrival they then disappeared... and reappeared in the space of Nepleslia Prime, their weapons were charged, their torpedoes were loaded. The station in the system was in the cross hairs of gunships and battleships, planets were instantly under siege by carriers which immediately began to spew battle pods and Rippers from their launch bays.
As soon as the SMX ships arrived, the Nepleslian forces which stood vigil over Nepleslia Prime began their retaliation to the incursion. Aether shock cannon and subspace encased particle cannon fire was exchanged between the defending and attacking forces. Vomit green SMX ships were turned into molten slag, the ships bearing the emblem of the Nepleslian military were torn apart by positron beams which cleaved through their shields.
The battle between the two forces was short but fierce. Twenty five of the defending Nepleslian ships were lost in the fray, forty-five of the fifty SMX ships were destroyed, one of the vomit green hulks which was heavily damaged was left as a prize for the Nepleslian forces. However, just the same, one of the valiant defending ships was boarded in the midst of the battle, and claimed by the SMX forces.
When the battle was over... the Nepleslian defenders found themselves in a state of victory against the intruding ships. The civilians on Nepleslia Prime were spared any harm due to the valiant defense presented by the planet-side defenders, which suffered their own negligible losses. When everything was done and counted... the Nepleslians managed to come out with mere scratches, it was a fine day for the new Democracy.
