Alright so I'm new here, but im not new to RPs. (though it's been awhile since I've done any). I probably wont start on my char for a few days while I read the wealth of information on here in preperation.

I however do have a few questions I would like awnsered.

1. Contact information?

2. I haven't really look at this too in depth yet but, in depth rules?

3. Pie or cake? (If you don't pick a side or I will kill you)

Hello, Beta. I'm MissingNo, a long-time player and part-time GM.

I would like to answer your questions, except I don't know what your questions are. I see words and phrases with question marks after them, but no actual questions. Except for your last one, of course. In #3, you obviously want us to pick a side...but your reason is oddly-written.

Do you mean...

A: "If you don't pick a side I will kill you"

or

B: "Pick a side or I will kill you"

or

C: "If you don't, pick a side, or I will kill you"

If it is C, I have a question for you: "If I don't do what?"

I'll be happy to answer your questions once you expand on #1 and #2, and choose either A, B, or C for the reason behind #3.

Welcome to the SARP! : )

Obviously you’re not used to to laconic people.

1. I am asking for your contact information so I can get to know everyone.

2. I am asking the location of the in depth forum rules.

3. Remove the or i probably added that beacause i stopped writhing the sentence midway beacause of a distraction, like gunfire or regular fire, poison gas ect.

Sometimes details can change what something means -- a word, a phrase, a sentence -- and change how someone interprets it. I could have taken your questions to mean "Where is the Contact Information thread?" instead of a request for info, so I asked to clarify. Being short-spoken is only good if you don't mind misunderstandings.

As for your questions...

There is a link to the New Players guide near the top of your screen below the "Star Army" banner logo directly next to the words "Useful Links". If you're looking for the rules, there is a link to those and other useful things to read at this location:

https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=gu ... read_these

Contact info is required to begin playing, and so you can enter yours as well as browse others at this location:

Also something to note: We appreciate proper writing and require good grammar, spelling, and punctuation in RP posts. The Firefox browser includes a spell-checker that comes in very handy. I certainly use it a lot...

I think Missing explained your first two questions, the only thing I would like to add is this: use common sense. Until you're more familiar with the site, try and avoid doing anything edgy, just to familiarize yourself.

And to answer your other question, pie.

As I said before I'm familiar with how RPG’s work, even these aren't up to my usual OOC standards because I've got about two hours of sleep yesterday and it 4 am here.

I already read those and assumed that that was just a character creation guide. I was more or less looking for the rating of content. No I’m not talking about sexual I’m talking about weather or not you’re allowed to express ones true feeling when a laser goes though ones bicep. (Swearing)

And thanks for the other link Ill post my stuff on there.

Too the second post, not doing anything edgy any time soon, I’m going to read my way though all the data first and then start off with some calm RPs. BTW love your avatar. I'm going to have to call cake army now though.

Pie Empire! Charrrrggggeeee!

Thanks, one of my friends made it. And depending on where you put your first char, I recommend starting in the training plot, just to familiarize yourself with the faction.

You’ll never win; cake has superior shock absorption abilities, while cake... You really think the crust is going to protect you?

Yeah I'll get too that but first I have to come up with a character. Still searching to see if you guys have shotguns at all, you must. A future without shotguns *shudder*

There are shotguns, but you have to remember that most combat is ship to ship or in PAs. Shotguns aren't very useful in those situations.

Yeah, I am really impressed with the knowledge of guns on this site, you may quite possibly know more than me. The hand cannon, my god I thought I was the only one who know about those, also called the wrist breaker.

Trust me there’s always room for shotguns, nothing like a maelstrom of steel to halt a couple of enemies. Stopping power is just another way to say buckshot. I take it some of you guys actually own guns. I own a .22 rifle and a 12 Ga. shotgun. (Hunting)

What we are saying, Beta, is that shotguns to exist. But as a footnote, or an astrisk on that, is that they are very infrequently used, since we are using mechanized suits of armor able to actually take a blast of super heated plasma or aetheric energy, and keep on ticking. Think the armor from Iron Man, add the armor from halo, and multiply by about 10,000, and you would start getting close.

So you see, shotguns are not really useful in that situation.

It was a casual reference, and you could always go Bioshock style and make exploding buckshot. Anyway I'm done with reading about the ships, guns and amour information so now I’m going to start on the races and history.

Once again, buckshot -- exploding or not -- may be good against light armor and unarmored personnel, but are not good against armor that can take nuclear blasts and shrug them off with minor burns. Many armors have taken to adding blades of energy or super-hard alloys as their primary melee options, since anything higher than buckshot (say, a plasma shotgun) will likely hurt the user as much as their target.

Big Daddies these ain't : D

*shrugs*

Suffice to say, the primary races here have long since hit the technological ceiling and are currently rebounding, scaling down on armor abilities to a more reasonable power level, but they're still quite a bit higher than most.

Moving on...I think this train of conversation can be taken to a new thread (having derailed the original aim of this one), and also things seem to be getting a little tense. The subject might need time to cool before continuing : )
