At 3200 hours today, Shukara Military Officials declared twelve kits from V'kaste's legion as Missing In Action after they failed to report in at least eight times during their assigned missions.
The twelve had been assigned to explore several areas of space, located well within communications range of several forward support fleets. These twelve were sent to systems that were believed to be uninhabited and devoid of any actual danger, mostly from data sent back from exploration probes.
However, it has become clear that this may not be the case. In conjunction with the missing Kits, so to have several of our exploration probes gone dark, not returning any messages or even returning home due to preprogrammed parameters.
Speculation abounds that the Kits may have run into other races out there in the vastness of space, but several prominent political figures state that this is an impossibility due to the lack of any physical evidence, whether that comes in the form of actual ships and people or in the form of radio broadcasts.
However, this station believes that what these politicians have said might not be entirely true. Sources indicate that some communications stations right here on Levia, and even a few outlying outposts, 'have' in fact picked up on strange transmissions emanating from somewhere in space. It is unsure whether these transmissions are the results of our own entertainment signals being bounced back from hundreds of years, or actual alien races.
The Royal Family has come out in support of the possibility of other sentient life, although her main concern is the safe return of the Kits who have gone missing.
