Nepleslian News Network [NNN] Blockade Leads to Unrest in Capital

The studio itself was in disarray, with the props for regularly scheduled softcore erotica quickly being pushed around and news anchors being pampered. It was a nightmare for many citizens, and to the staff at NNN, a dream come true. Every time this sort of event occurred, ratings went through the roof and the government was a little more susceptible to requests for budgets increases. To the people at Studio 69, no news was bad news.

"This is a special report, live from Studio 69, with Jon Bourgogne and Sienna Bernhard."


"Hey Nepleslia, I'm Jon Bourgogne." The male anchor introduced himself, removing his sunglasses dramatically. This man seemed to pass himself off as distinguished, though he frequently used cheap and cliche gestures to flaunt his sense of self-imposed bravado.

"And I'm Sienna Bernhard." The younger female anchor introduced herself. She was something of a wholesome beauty, with well balanced proportions and an elegant air about her.

"Today in breaking news, the Star Army of Yamatai First Standard Fleet has violated Nepleslian airspace and now hangs in orbit around the planet, forming a blockade around the planet. No vessels have been fired on yet, but analysts are worried that it is only a matter of time before the bloodthirsty Irim Kessaku does deploy her fleet offensively." Jon began, his voice resounding in a rich baritone.

"We've not been able to receive any word from our correspondent in the Yamataian Senate, or speak to Jack Miller as they are currently session over a recently presented proposal." He soncluded, glancing at his rather comely co-anchor. "Over to you, Sienna."

"Thank you Jon." She said politely, as the camera view shifted to her. "We've also heard reports of mixed armed and unarmed protesters holding anti-Yamatai demonstrations all over the planet, particularly in the denser areas of Funky City, where ground traffic has been completely halted in nearly 33% of all navigable paths in the mega-city. And on-site at one of the more spirited processions is our Senior Protest Correspondent, Jackie Swanson."

The scene panned to the center of a massive crowd of rowdy, largely male crowd of Nepleslians. Many bore weapons, though many more carried banners and flags.

The large majority of these were actually YSE flags, one after the other ignited and waved around as an obvious insult to the neighboring nation.

Cheap plastic, wax and cloth effigies of important Ketsurui Clan members were mounted on platforms, repeatedly assaulted with blunt tools, guns and the occasional pelvic thrust.

"It's a moving scene Sienna. Protesters are doing everything they can to offend, some going as far as actually hurling small plastic balloons filled with [censored for content] at the effigies you can see behind me. Despite the relatively passionate way these demonstrations have gone underway and the heavy saturation of firearms in the crowd, there have been very few violent incidents insofar. My only worries right now, are what might happen if a Neko shows up, and how the police are going to handle the crowd."
