Nepleslian News Network [NNN] Minerals and Mudslinging

To those tuning in to the correct channels, the Nepleslian News Network logo briefly lit the screen, following the usual fanfare. The anchorwoman and her two wonderfully accentuated blouse-mice smiled at her viewers and lightly tapped her stack of decorative papers on the desk, awaiting for the fanfare to die to begin her news report.

When it was her time, an image of the new colony in the Nepleslia Colonial Expanse, Fortuna.

“Some good news for those of you heading out to the Colonial Expanse today. Leaders of industry and political advocates both agree that progress in the Colonial Expanse is in a wonderful state of growth. Fortuna, otherwise known as Gold Harbor to the locals, has become a central focus point for many of the resourcing companies as well as adventurous colonists willing to brave the mild ion-storms over the planet.”

“Leading metal and mineral manufacturer Vinross Yu-Cranker Materials, holding an amazing 64% of Fortuna’s digging operations, has remained fair and stable on their pricing even in the exponential growth of their company. Critics and supporters of the trailing companies Tennerman-Yandle Metalworks and Price Resource Incorporated exclaim their skepticism of Vinross Yu-Cranker’s relatively unharmed facilities and their own, which have in the past have been constantly targeted by marauding pirates and criminals. We here at NNN have managed to get an interview with Vinross Yu-Cranker Materials public spokeswoman, Melinda Barrs.”

Melinda Barrs said:
“These accusations are baseless and are only meant as an attempt to tarnish our name. We here at Vinross Yu-Cranker Materials are here for the benefit of Nepleslia, not solely to gain profit from the bounty of our new homes among the stars. Our company has even offered shares of assistance and equipment to our competitors…but they have been turned down at every corner. We cannot just hand them money; they need to work for themselves. All we can do is provide suggestions, though, as talks of cooperative mining platforms and company merging are out of the question for their CEO’s.”

Another image filled the little box in the corner of the screen, this time of the newly-created UOC and their flag.

“In other news, debate is still flaring over political heads and civilian speakers to Yamataian issues, specifically speaking the formation of the UOC and the governments all-too-eager goal to providing them assistance. A scathing review from daytime television host, Terry Stinger, lit up the poles last weekend.”

Terry Stinger said:
“It’s absolutely amazing how eager some of our government heads are to assist what is, essentially, an off-shoot of Yamataian culture. Did somebody up there forget who made the plague? Who had a fleet of warships parked outside of our borders just last month? And which family was LEADING Yamatai during all of this? And who is leading the UOC now? It’s amazing how quick we were to jump right in the middle of the controversy between the UOC and Yamatai, and even more amazing that we haven’t been targeted by Yamatai for helping what is, essentially, a band of rebels.”

“Senate members and government spokesmen had no comments to give us, but have stated they will give a public address in the near future.”
