It was announced today that vessels of Nepleslia's 4th AASP Fleet's 3rd Cruiser Squadron caught two Yamataian-flagged vessels attempting to smuggle arms into Nepleslia. While most of the cargo is assorted machinery and luxury goods, two cargo containers on both ships were found to be carrying an array of personal weapons into the Imperium. Captains of both vessels assert that they were unaware of the contents and cannot be held responsible for being misled.
4th Fleet spokesman, Captain Darryl Murdoch, announced that both ships, their cargo, and their crew were being held pending further investigation by 4th Fleet and the IPG. Such searches, he said, were a random and routine part of the Nepleslia Star Navy's duty to protecting the Imperium. "In the past week, 3rd Cruiser Squadron alone has searched thirty vessels from every nation that has entered the Nepleslia Prime system.
