The newscast opened in its standard manner, lots of bright colors, heavy metal, and scantily-clad women. It then focused on the regular pretty blonde girl who delivered most of the NNN's newscasts.
Beside her was the super-imposed video feed standard to news shows, showing a large, smoking crater, flanked with burning forests, a semi-obliterated water tower, and devastated highways. The view was aerial, probably taken from a helicopter or cheap drone. Debris, smoke, and fire were still all very present. The newswoman began speaking.
"A small-scale atomic explosion rocked a Rok'Veru suburb today. The area was undergoing road construction and real estate development when the blast occurred, destroying a large area in the process."
The video feed changed, now showing Nepleslian fire fighters spraying down fires around the large, smoking crater.
"It is believed the explosion originated from an ill-maintained fusion reactor in a Red Faction armory. While findings are still inconclusive, it is believed the generator over-loaded and exploded, taking with it the Red base and much of the surrounding area. Thanks to low amounts of fuel within, damage was limited to a relatively small area, and no Nepleslian civilians were caught in the blast. Citizens in the area are advised to stay indoors. Although radioactive fall-out from the explosion is very limited, it is recommended to stay safe until the area has been fully cleared of hazardous materials."
The video feed next to the blonde then changed to a scene of several police officers escorting several men in a state of extreme undress (the more non-worksafe parts of said men had been blacked out of the broadcast) from a non-descript warehouse.
"In other news, an InterNep-based pornographic website known as 'Cyberhole.com' was shut down by the Nepleslian IPG, Marine corps, and Los Apagos Police Department today after the abduction and rape of a SMoDIN marine. The military has not released the name of the woman as of now. The LAPD stated earlier today that several of the site's employees were killed in the raid, and that one Nepleslian marine was wounded by this man..."
The broadcast cut then to an Anti-matter O's advertisement, showing a SMoDIN engineer using them to kick-start his ship's reactors after running out of other fuel, and in the process out-running a Sakura-class gunship with a rather wild caricature of Hanako Ketsurui piloting it who demanded a race with the ship.
