Nuclear Fusion help please! Multiple questions

I need to figure out a method and configuration for at least two fusion power plants on the Traveler class, and then to figure out the output of each. The answer to the first question is needed so I know what the power generator looks like (and then be able to place it in the ship and RP it properly), the second answer is to figure out how much power to limit myself to and what sort of fuel I'm going to be needing.

Looking over Wikipedia's article on nuclear fusion, it seems like I have a few options. However, if there are any designs for fusion generators currently in use, what do they look like?

Abwehran Fusion Reactors, there secondary reactors, are pretty much circular tubes with a section of them cut out to hold a Magnetic Bottle.

A Magnetic Bottle is a container that holds the initial fuel source (Heavy Water).

Once the bottle is installed, it begins to cycle through the tube which contains materials that can fuse to produce energy.

This actual reactor has a metallic housing to protect the internal components, but since Fusion involves Super-heated Plasma in the process it is still dangerous. Thus all Abwehran reactors can be jettisoned when emergencies arise.
