The Senate of Yamatai is a semi-in-character forum.

Anyone who plays a Yamataian character is able to vote. Voting is done via players rather than characters to keep things simple. You don't have to put your character's name(s) when voting. Your voting post represents an undefined population of Yamatai that is voting in the RP.

That said, you are also welcome to make posts from specific characters if you like, who can add their opinions to the discussions.

Making a proposal is counted as a vote for it.

1. Voting for each proposal will be open for 7 days.

2. A voter may vote YES, NO, or ABSTAIN, and may make comments or suggestions of improvements to the proposal.

3. The minimum number of votes needed for a successful proposal is 3.

4. Voters may make a motion. In order for a motion to be successful, it must be seconded and unchallenged.

Motions include:

-Motion to extend: Extends voting period by an additional week.
-Motion to end: Ends the voting period immediately if at least 7 people have voted. A period of 3 full days of open voting must elapse before a motion to close can be made.
-Motion to change: Allows the proposal to be modified for clarity or adjusted during voting. Voters may change their votes if necessary, but votes before the changes still count if left unchanged.

5. Poll topics are prohibited, so that all votes are public.
