IMPORTANT BRIEFING

The following was transmitted over the all hands channel for the USO.

"Today we will be dismantling the armed forces of the URR.

We have let them know the terms of our deal. Prosperity in exchange for working with us. These are the terms, and we are not here to waste our time negotiating.

In the future, the soliders you fight here may be your allies... so don't kill too many of them."

United Republic of the Reeves boarder - No Mans Land

The URR had been fighting for its boarders for decades... and this was the strongest point in their defenses.

The no man's land stretched for miles, pock-marked with mine fields, razor wire, and booby-traps. Even before one reached the first of the trenches there were pre-mapped locations for mortar and artillery fire. The initial trenches had ample stockpiles of men and ammo... machine-gun nests were hidden among them along with anti-tank rifles, explosives, and poison gas.

Behind the trenches were more permanent fortifications. The dirt and earth fortifications started to give way to concrete bunkers with interconnected tunnels. Overlapping fields of machine-guns, hundreds upon hundreds of smaller metal turrets, some real, some fake.

Even further back were the fortresses themselves. Large concrete towers topped with anti-aircraft artillery. These were perched on mountains of concrete and steel. Each housed several large artillery pieces that could attack enemies that approached the front lines.

The defenses did not stop here either. Train lines led back from these fortresses, connecting to supply yards filled with food, ammo, and weapons. Aircraft waited in hangers. Armored divisions were loaded and ready to be shipped to the front in counter-attack.

This did not seem to bother the USO. The plan was to fight directly through the toughest fortifications.

Medical and supply shuttles for the USO were already on standby high above the planet. A small army of cupcake tank-drones were already standing by to support the push. Pamphlets had already been dropped all over the URR lines with various drawings showing them surrendering, trying to request they give up so they wouldn't be harmed.

Days ago C5 drones had been employed to block out the sun. Soldiers in the trenches hadn't seen starlight of any kind for almost a week... the only light coming from hidden light sources kept inside the trenches...

USOs Pumpkin Eater, above Xuno.

"JACK! YOU READY?!" Uso called out, just finishing up her weapon checks... emp pistol attached at the hip, LMG in hand, extra ammo sticky'd to the front of her powered armor.

The initial operations had started. EMPs were being used on the URR forces below... just to make sure any high-tech forces were out of the way. Unsettling sounds were being played across their front lines, skittering filling the darkness around them... and up above Uso herself was getting ready to join in with Section 6's push.

Ty showed up looking different than usual no power armor just a modified paramilitary night ops outfit with a Maverick carbine with him we're a squad of five non zombie doll soldiers
"Well meet you planetside ma'am Frank went on ahead, see you on the other side"

A few black frigates hung overhead as flights of black U-1s lazily advanced. Troops had already been disgorged from landing craft, already making a unseen advanced, troops armed with everything from Maverick weapons systems, to the new 6mm assault rifle and kinetic shotgun. Jack stepped forward with his squad, consisting of Sarah, Sparks, Neera, and Rorik. Mark Tazar strolled passed the ship in his Kirin mech.

"All units are ready to speed up the advance, just waiting for the signal to cut loose ma'am.", he said as he hefted a 6AS in his hands and a Hailstorm across his back.

"Right, lets get down there then...." Uso said, heading towards the opening front bay of the Pumpkin Eater. The wings of her flight pack extending and powering up as her slow walk turned into a run...

Each unit already had landing points picked out. Ragnarok's forces were moving more to the south... Vier's drones were handling the northern areas, and Section 6 got to take on the central fortifications. The first landing point was out in no-man's land where landmines, barbed wire, and other boobytraps awaited. Even before they landed the area was being swept from above. Impossibly bright lights came streaking down from above, drawing glassy-paths through the fortifications leading right up to the first rows of trenches.

They weren't here just to defeat the URR... but to let them know their best fortifications wouldn't work.

Echo squad left on a separate shuttle landing a click out from the trenches "ty to thunder good I need vx rounds loved on the following coordinates Echo Delta Charlie Zulu foxtrot I repeat Echo Delta charliC zulu foxtrot" Ty's come speed to life " thunder god to echo team, Roger fireing for effect splash out" In mere moments four individual mortir shells rained on the fire line trenches spreading a toxic gas 8 meters in dyamiter across the trench that would disapate after a few minutes in this time ty and echo team would pick off any targets still able to fight within the fire line trench.

Hydra tanks would advance forward of the ground troops, their mechanized legs sending vibrations through the dirt with each step. Mines would detonate against their armor, the fragments meant for troops, pinging off the armor, leaving only scratches. The tanks shelled the lines ahead, with 40mm shells and HE mini missiles. Any enemy troops who made the mistake of popping up were created with fire from the Hydras' top mounted gumdrop autoturret.

Mark strode forward just behind the line of tanks, sweeping the trenches with his Kirin's eye laser and and shoulder mounted weapons.

Jack and his team quickly followed after Uso, taking a running leap from the open bay. With assist from their Revenant power armor's built in thrusters they landed onto the field after Uso.

"Alright follow close and watch for threats, eliminate with due prejudice. If it looks like URR and it shoots at you, pop em. Watch your spacing and keep up.", Jack said as they spread out and followed the boss.

Upon landing, subtle sounds of explosions went off in the dinstance. Next came the loud whisling of the 100 cm artillery shells flying over to their positions. Next came the gunfire from the mmounted machine guns. As bullets sprayed down no man’s land from the URR line.

The sky was still completely black thanks to the starships overhead blocking light. The only time the trenches were illumunated was when the tank shells exploded against their targets, or when the rifles and machines started firing back. It was like playing tag in the dark with flashlights... only the USO forces were cheating...

As the first set of artillery shells came towards their targets, the smaller Cupcake tankettes traveling behind the Hydra tanks would start firing, sending up trails of auto-cannon fire to detonate the rounds in mid-air. Shortly afterward, brilliant lances of light would streak down from space to strike the artillery pieces as they poked out from the fortresses in the rear areas.

As the artillery shells were shot out of the air by USO armor. Fire exploaded out from them, falling down upon the USO forces and no man’s land. This gave lighting for the URR to see the enemy, who shot flares out at USO as well. Before falling into their trenches and sneaking back through their tunnel systems. Only leaving behind a few with heavy armarments to give a false sense of identity. That there were more troops than were actually there.

The artillery fired again, along with the mounted tanks and Anti armored field guns. The URR remaining sprayed out with their mounted Machine gun positions. Sparking no Man’s land into a large scale battle field.

There was also no word from Kyro or Any allied Planetary factions. Not even the civilians in the local area have Known of their position, not seeing them for days.

Uso herself seemed happy to keep watch, lagging behind her S6 bodyguard unit as they pushed forward with support of the tanks. She'd let her flight-pack disengage and zoom up overhead to provide oversight as she kept an eye out for any particular soldiers showing talent. She'd open up a line to Jack and Mark as they both stomped forward "You know, we would have had to buy some second-hand armors for this not that long ago... your new suits aren't bad at all..."

Of course, that was mostly just small talk. Uso continued to watch how the battle unfolded, not yet feeling the need to get involved personally... the other soldiers would do the grunt work for her. The boring jobs of a frontal assult against an enemy. The pace the armor was making was good, and the glowing lines from tracers, flares, and rounds bouncing off objects in the dark really made the whole thing look like a laser light show.

Rounds caused shields to flare as they struck the protective fields. The tanks continued their advance, but now with the troopers gathered behind them for cover.

Mark continued sweeping fire across enemy lines.

"Hydras, load starfire shells, fire for effect.", Jack finished giving this order as Uso spoke, "They're designed to provide survivability in extreme situations, even has onboard medical systems, including a defibrillator in the chest."

The squad still stayed well out of range but still kept pace with the frontline's.
