Lidja: Strange and rare for such a gathering of personas. A crossroads of sorts? Intersection? Bisection? Extrapolation necessary. Explanation requested.
DK 909: The Cult of War remains curious as to the proposal created by Rebel Hassan and Fanatic Cyberemps. Request seconded.
Axelrod:
Datajack: We will let Hassan speak as it was an idea he created. We do not wish to mispresent it.
Hassan: All of us have our differences, philosophical or otherwise, and conflicting priorities. But all of us also have a vested interest in staying alive to accomplish those. During the Schism, it was clear that Yamatai was an evil that had to be challenged. The way to accomplish that was different for each of us. Some chose to fight, some chose to survive to prove a point, others chose to hide. No matter what we chose, the Freespacers followed a path of their choice.
Today, we come to that again. And we find ourselves threatened by outside forces again. Yamatai hunts anyone even harboring sympathies to us and has dragged the Free State's erstwhile guardian into the witch hunt. Partly due to the Nepleslians' poor planning. Null & Void and Port Hope are threatened by piracy and poorly guarded by a handful of Nepleslian warships. Thus, the Cult of War's attempts to create a militia of sorts.
Yet, what better military force could be provided than the Freespacer forces under the Guild and Wired Rovers? For the sake of unity, I wish to resolve the schism and bring as many factions back together under the name of Freespacer again. Each of us may hold our own beliefs but it has never been the Freespacer tradition to force our beliefs onto another individual.
Lidja: Honeyed words coating a practical solution. Piracy, smuggling, Nepleslians, interference with regularity of commerce and transportation.
DK 909: And of the Yamataians? Will they cease their bloodlust with a simple change of skin? Does mending the schism throw into a war with the evil which we despise but cannot challenge? Is war the result of unity?
Axelrod:
Hassan: That will depend on Nepleslia. I do not trust them any more than I trust Yamatai. Their leader has proven exceptionally dim-witted. Not so much as the stupidity of the Nekovalkyrja but he shows a slowness and a lack for detail that is fatal in the leaders of empires. Possibly why Yamatai and Nepleslia cannot get along. They both cannot accept the stupidity of the other. But we must thank them for inspiring this idea.
Datajack: An idea which the Guild is only half-hearted about. To abandon the liberation to strengthen ourselves is a mean blow to the cause of freedom.
DK 909: A liberation can only be called that if anything was liberated. Thus far, the Cult of War has not seen news of the Guild's successes. Only its carefully hoarded warships and weapons and the propaganda of promises.
Datajack: The Guild's plans are not for the simple-minded War Cultists, impatient as they are. Machines will outlast flesh. Even the synthetic trash in which the Evil Machines wrap themselves in. They are cloaked as such due to the misleading Ketsurui tribe. Machines pretending to be organics and thus doubly flawed.
Lidja: There is point to the proposition. There is point to the benefits. We have never made a decision like this by wondering what others will do. Nepleslia cannot interfere with us without cause. We must do what is best for ourselves as a collective. However, regularity cannot be maintained if all are not committed.
Hassan: Individual dissent is acceptable. Pacifists will hardly be agreeable to the sudden appearance of warships crewed by Freespacers and Automata. But they are not formed into a single bloc as their beliefs are too disparate on other matters.
Lidja: The regulation of trade, transportation, and commerce depends on security. Are these warships and "soldiers" you speak of entirely at the service of the Free State? Or do you plan to use them for other purposes?
Datajack: The Guild will donate its warships for the use of the Free State. But we will not give up our other ships nor our cause. At the same time, we will cease operations outside of territory owned by the Free State. For the moment.
Hassan: No. No caveats. All ships of the Wired Rovers and IWL be made part of the Free State. Its personnel should be given the opportunity to join given their expertise. To ensure none of the blocs here renege, we must create some form of decision making council. Something that can act in the interest of all Spacers. My Rovers will become part of the defense force and the IWL will be disbanded to be integrated into it as well.
Datajack: Unacceptable! The Freespacer slaves of the Evil Machines cannot be considered part of the Free State! Any Freespacer working with them cannot be in communion with us! We must retain autonomy to pursue our own goals!
Hassan: All Freespacers. Even the ones too stupid to know that they serve our eternal enemy and the source of evil in the galaxy. We cannot defeat that evil today. Perhaps not in our life times. But we must grow and learn and be able to challenge that evil. Your only other option is to continue your struggle without the support of our people.
DK 909: Morality compass unnecessary. Just Cause established by insincere words of "Empress" coupled with military actions by Monster. Duplicity evidence of lack of trustworthiness. Autonomy. Freedom. Each is free to do as it pleases as long it does not interfere with others. Guild cannot have both ways.
Axelrod:
Hassan: So we are agreed on the fundamentals. The Wired Rovers will be integrated into the Cult of War's plan for a central force. The IWL will disband and its members given the opportunity to join this force. Its resources will be likewise integrated.
Datajack: The Guild will donate its warships. Nothing more or less.
DK 909: The Cult of War accepts the aid rendered. It is glad to have as little to do with fanatics as possible. Support for mending schism approved.
Datajack: Says the fanatic.
Axelrod:
Lidja: The Ministry of Regularity supports this move so long as all sides do not interfere with each other. More details regarding the composition of these resources, the structure of this "defense force," its maintenance and most importantly, its leadership will be necessary. This concept of a leadership council too has potential but requires greater representation than the blocs which already exist.

Risk assessment. Benefits versus drawbacks. Unity outweighs war. Better to die together than separately. Technology and experience of Hassan's "soldiers" will prove useful.
