Ma'am,
I am sure this request will be denied, but I am going to try it anyways. As is tradition in the empire, I participated in Second Chance's salvage giveaway. Besides some usual junk they just want to be rid of, I did get a white cat that must have been a former ship mascot. I read stories where ships in the past used to have them. It got me thinking, the Yukkika II might benefit from adopting this cat.
Historically, mascots have served a greater purpose than mere companionship. They provide a morale boost to crews in high-stress environments and foster camaraderie in jointly taking care of the cat. As a science officer, I can attest to the psychological value of such animals, particularly in confined, high-pressure environments of starship. Research has shown that interacting with animals can reduce stress, improve focus, and even inspire creativity—all of which could enhance our crew's performance.
Regardless of the decision, I appreciate the opportunity to bring this to your attention and highlight the value small traditions can bring to the lives of those aboard the Yukkika II.
Respectfully,
Radcliff Yingzi

Addendum: I also received a message that claims to be for only the eyes of Star Army of Yamatai Captains along with the salvage. So I am forwarding that to you as well.
