I saw this today and thought of Sekiko. It's sad.

I know I should feel sad, but I know I don't.
Punk died in 1991.

What replaced it was nothing like real punk which is about anger and a desire for change. No. What replaced it was guys whining about girls and going on about themselves. Basically, nu-metal only they're pretending it's not because nu isn't a "trendy" genere same as math-metal isn't.

It makes me sad, considering I was 5 at the time.

Darling, punk died long before 1991.

Punk died in, by my estimation, 1984 or 1985. By the late 80s there was little still worth listening to, by the 90s there was practically nothing. But you know what? CBGB&OMFUG was to me the greatest proof that God exists. Now it is not. And as before.

I never got the fucking chance to play there. Dammit.

And if I'm to perform, I need to transport my instruments.

Which gets insanely fucking expensive, since standard complement is...
- electric guitar
- accoustic guitar
- electric amp (this weighs about 20 kg, by the way)
- accoustic amp (...4 kg, much more manageable)
- the full array of microphones for instruments, vocals, harmonics, and so forth
- tenor saxophone
- Orion, since he plays with me now
- Orion's accoustic guitar
- Orion's electric guitar
- Orion's multi-purpose Orange Crush amp which i am terribly envious of
- the pedal-board (21 pedals, eat THAT nels cline!)
- 5-piece drumkit
- Orion's dulcimer

...so forth. expensive to fly that.

Also, Ive never seen an international flight for further than Seoul at that low a price. Americans are so spoiled.

I have several large amps in my garage, including a waist-high one for the guitar and two towers larger than I am. We also have electric guitars (and an acoustic with speaker connection) here. ^_^

And you aren't in New York. Besides, I'm terribly attached to the SG, the 370/12, and the Takamine that cost me twice the other three guitars combined. >_< But it sounds beautiful! Rosewood and koa ftw!

^_^

England had some of the best punk, but punk started in New York City. And NYC punk was awesome in the extreme. And, for the record, positively idolized by a great number of British punks. You know how many of them would never have started playing were it not for Johnny Ramone (rock in peace)?
