The lights were initially dim as the packed studio was abuzz with banter and gleeful speculation as the announcer came on, with a solitary spotlight trained to him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great regret that the interview with Luca Pavone and his crew has been cancelled,"
The crowd immediately stopped and begun to murmur and exchange blandishments. Their idol couldn't possibly abandon them at the last minute, right?
MEANWHILE
"Hmm, this WIND armour suit matches my sideburns, feels cozy," Luca commented as he slid the helmet on and looked out onto the evening vista from a few kilometres up in the air in the ISC Big Bird. He sighed lightly as the airlock opened and he looked down, "You said this suit will keep me safe as I dive down, and I'll be able to moderate my fall with the aid of the GUST attachments?"
"Yes sir," Allison intoned, "That should do the job fine, use the plasma thrusters to moderate your fall, and the parachute to really slow down."
"In that case," He turned around as took a deep breath, "It's showtime."
He jumped out of the plane in a backflip, and started falling towards Yamatai. During which, he was whistling nonchalantly as he sailed towards the ground.
"The Camptown ladies sing this song, doo dah, doo dah..."
He continued at full pelt, watching the ground come in awful fast whilst keeping his balance in the air. The parachute on his back eventually found that there was about a three quarters of a kilometre left of his fall, and activated. He eventually begun drifting towards the studio, landing on the roof with a loud thump.
The studio where the talk was to be hosted heard this, as it was just under Luca's feet. The crowd, who was in the middle of leaving, stopped and tried to make sense of the sound. Heavy footsteps could be heard as the announcer scrambled back to the podium, tripping over himself .
"Ah - err - I've just received word that someone has landed on the roof," The announcer attempted "We don't quite know whether or not it's the guest, but-"
He couldn't get the last word in as Luca casually rolled in from stage left on the WIND's GUST's mobility enhancement system, likening them to a pair of roller skates. He turned around to the bewildered crowd, put his hands on his helmet and took it off. Cradling it under his shoulder.
"Well, I'd say you know now!" He announced his presence unabashedly, "Did ya miss me?"
The crowd went nuts as they scrambled back to their seats and applauded the stylish entry.
"I'm here 'cos I've gotten a lot of requests, calls and mail from fans, friends to answer some questions," Luca stated his intentions clearly, "I've even gotten requests from folks who live beyond the fourth wall! I'm kinda obliged to respond to them."
"If you want to talk to one of my crew members a specific question, I'm sure I can get them up on the video screen behind me to answer your questions."
Luca stood where he was, and awaited the first question, in character, or from beyond the fourth wall.
