Luca

The Ultimate Badass
🎖️ Game Master
The lights were initially dim as the packed studio was abuzz with banter and gleeful speculation as the announcer came on, with a solitary spotlight trained to him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great regret that the interview with Luca Pavone and his crew has been cancelled,"

The crowd immediately stopped and begun to murmur and exchange blandishments. Their idol couldn't possibly abandon them at the last minute, right?

MEANWHILE
"Hmm, this WIND armour suit matches my sideburns, feels cozy," Luca commented as he slid the helmet on and looked out onto the evening vista from a few kilometres up in the air in the ISC Big Bird. He sighed lightly as the airlock opened and he looked down, "You said this suit will keep me safe as I dive down, and I'll be able to moderate my fall with the aid of the GUST attachments?"

"Yes sir," Allison intoned, "That should do the job fine, use the plasma thrusters to moderate your fall, and the parachute to really slow down."
"In that case," He turned around as took a deep breath, "It's showtime."

He jumped out of the plane in a backflip, and started falling towards Yamatai. During which, he was whistling nonchalantly as he sailed towards the ground.
"The Camptown ladies sing this song, doo dah, doo dah..."

He continued at full pelt, watching the ground come in awful fast whilst keeping his balance in the air. The parachute on his back eventually found that there was about a three quarters of a kilometre left of his fall, and activated. He eventually begun drifting towards the studio, landing on the roof with a loud thump.

The studio where the talk was to be hosted heard this, as it was just under Luca's feet. The crowd, who was in the middle of leaving, stopped and tried to make sense of the sound. Heavy footsteps could be heard as the announcer scrambled back to the podium, tripping over himself .

"Ah - err - I've just received word that someone has landed on the roof," The announcer attempted "We don't quite know whether or not it's the guest, but-"

He couldn't get the last word in as Luca casually rolled in from stage left on the WIND's GUST's mobility enhancement system, likening them to a pair of roller skates. He turned around to the bewildered crowd, put his hands on his helmet and took it off. Cradling it under his shoulder.

"Well, I'd say you know now!" He announced his presence unabashedly, "Did ya miss me?"

The crowd went nuts as they scrambled back to their seats and applauded the stylish entry.

"I'm here 'cos I've gotten a lot of requests, calls and mail from fans, friends to answer some questions," Luca stated his intentions clearly, "I've even gotten requests from folks who live beyond the fourth wall! I'm kinda obliged to respond to them."

"If you want to talk to one of my crew members a specific question, I'm sure I can get them up on the video screen behind me to answer your questions."

Luca stood where he was, and awaited the first question, in character, or from beyond the fourth wall.

A woman of smaller stature.. no, she could be no more then a girl.. squeezed to the front of the crowd. She seemed to have a question, from the constant jumping up and down to get Luca's attention. She had raven black hair to her shoulders and two big eyes like dazzling sapphires. She was wearing a plaid sweater and beige jeans with white sneakers. She didn't seem to want to just call out her question, which many in the crowd her doing. This girl was polite and patient, at least.

"Hmm, quiet crowd tonight..." Luca commented as the crowd stayed quiet, however, he was close enough to hear someone bouncing around in the crowd, "Heya kid, in the sweater," He knelt down and singled her out, snapping his fingers for a microphone

He was given a microphone from a stage hand, and pointed it to the girl with a smile, "Got a question?"

As her idol centered his attention on her, the girl gasped and stared: dear in the headlights style. After someone behind her gave her a slight nudge, she snapped out of it and asked, "Ser Luca! I.. I wanted to know.. uhm... How old do I have to be before I can fight baddies.. er, I mean bad guys with you?" There seemed to be a hint of urgency in her voice as she gazed at him. Her eyes were full of hope and eagerness at this point.

Luca rubbed his chin a little and shook his head a little, "Sweetie, you need to be about 16, 18 or older, I didn't start beating up the bad guys until I was 20," He then had a second thought, "But don't let that ever slow you down from being the best you can be now, okay?" He told her as warmly as possible.

He then took a moment to reflect on what he just said, and scratched his head, "That is, living life to the fullest, not beating up people. One day, you can tag along."

At first, the girl seemed like she was going to cry, but after a few moments of blinking back those tears, she nodded and thanked Luca with a smile. Although she seemed a little hurt by what he had said, she seemed to realize that the answer given to her was true.

She was too young, but she would be the best that she could be. She would do it... for her idol, Ser Luca. As if in a dream, the girl faded back into the crowd with a smile on her face and hope in her heart.

! An Otaku Appears...

A rather large man shoved his way to the front of the crowd and stuffed the remainder of his giant chocolate covered pretzel into his mouth, all the while waving his arms about in an attempt to gather Luca's attention. He wore a boonie hat on his head, the chin strap pulled taught against the rolling fat of his neck. He also had the official Luca Pavone Fan Club t-shirt stretched tightly over his thick countenance.

"I want to ask about collectibles, Luca!" He huffed, struggling to swallow his sweet treat, "I ordered two of the Panther and Enzo action figures as soon as they came out! The Panther figure arrived fully intact and its 'Feline Jumping Action' worked perfectly!"

He paused to breath heavily all over the people around him before continuing; "But my Enzo figure is poorly made and lacking in detail. Not too mention the complete lack of any special function like the other figurines I purchased. It has 'Super Rip-Off Technique' listed in the catalogue, but the figure seems to be unable to do anything. Nor does it come in the ultra-collectable case like the others! Will this be a trend with the newer figures? I'd like to recieve the Seiren figure in a collectable case when it comes out!"

He continued to huff and puff noisily while he looked up at Luca, expectantly awaiting an answer.

Luca paused for a moment and smiled as he looked to the side, snapped his fingers and came up with a picture of the figurine on the screen behind him.

"The thing is, do you know who Enzo really is?" Luca was smiling as he said this, "So far, he's been acquiring as much money as he can so he can amount an assault against the pirates that stole his ship. I've been helping him out by giving him cuts of loot, and, well, let's just say he's been less than savoury about the other ways of getting money."

Luca held up a little watch, "This here little number is a 300 KS watch. Not so bad sounding, eh?" He scrunched it in his power armoured hand, "Wrong! It's only about 3 KS!"

"You see, his power to rip people off has manifested in that doll and you've fallen for it, hook line and sinker. Don't worry though, the money raised goes towards his 'get my ship back!' fund." He nodded solemnly with a Cheshire cat grin on his face, "I'll tell him you're his special fan, and I'll get Seiren to hand-sign a figure of himself for ya."

With that in mind, Luca felt the need to get a toy in his likeliness with "Badass Charming Sideburns" action and toss it over to the fan.

The lumbering giant let out a squeal of joy as the action figure collided with his meaty hands. He looks upon the toy ravenously as if he were about to eat it. Suprisingly, he did not; opting to instead stuff it into one of his many fat rolls. The crowd parted as he waddled through them at full speed to take his new find back to his hovel and set it up next to his treasured "Sky-High Ultra-Flight 1:128 Scale Phoenix" and his "Action Porn" John figure.

Several members of the audience thanked Luca profusely for inadvertently removing the massive fan-boy.

Luca sighed a sigh of relief and wiped sweat from his brow after that encounter.

"Whew, no worries guys, them fans..." He said as he took a breath of fresh air, "I always appreciate fans -"

A few pairs of panties flew on stage with phone numbers penned onto them. Luca picked one of them up and had a look, then tossed it aside with a smile. A few roses came on stage too, and a shoe which bounced off of his armour.
"What was I saying again?" He had suspiciously selective amnesia on the subject, "Oh, any other questions? I've got plenty of time."

The screen behind him went to static.
"Huh? Whuzzat?" He asked as he looked behind him, and his father's face came on, "Oh, hey dad."
"Son, I'm a bit disappointed that you forgot to include me in this interview," He sighed a little as he showed off his metal arm, "I can be interesting, too!"

"You were interesting when you were younger, you still are, but you're still my dad, and the quartermaster," Luca admitted, "If it wasn't for you I'd have to chase down bullets and do fetch quests in my own ship."
"I keep a track of everything," Sebastian asserted.

Luca just looked at the audience, shrugged with a tilted head and pointed his thumb to his dad, behind him on screen.

A little old frail lady, fought her way in front. She looked upon the Luca and face of his father upon a screen.
She put her hand in the arm to get their attention and waited for being acknowleged. It would be rude to ask away anyway.

"Yeah? Little old lady, down there in the back?" Luca pointed her out, but then felt the need to do a small clarification, "Also, it's an open floor, no need to ask permission."

The proverbial floodgates opened, and Luca's responses came down to: "I don't swing that way,", "I'm already taken,", "The new video game will come out later on," and "Yes I did have pancakes for breakfast."

"Now let the little old lady have her question, and I'd like everyone else to be orderly when they ask questions."

Little old lady smiled and asked her question. "I have a question for Mister Pavone Senior actually if you don't mind. I would like to ask what was Luca like when he was kid?"

"Uh," Luca stammered for a moment as he pulled the collar of his armour, "Let me ans-"

"He was a crazy little kid," Sebastian cut off his son and recalled the memories, he shuffled around with something nearby and held it up. It was a photo album, "Y'see, he started off like most of us do as a baby, but then he grew 'n grew, and took a liking to things like Action Movies, Motocross, Boxing and Running."

A look of bewilderment and shock came across Luca's face as some of the baby photos came on screen. But then he sighed a sigh of relief when the more action-oriented photos came up of him doing awesome things when he was 11, 13, or 15.

He tapped the side of his head when a photo of him holding up a boxing trophy came on screen. A tooth or two was loose, and he had lots of bruises and a black eye, but he came out victorious.

"When he got older and nearly dropped out of college, he decided to be a delivery guy, on foot or on motorbike. He was pretty good at it, and that's where he met John, our pilot," He sighed a little, "But then he got swept up in a conscription call by the YSE, and put on the YSS Goban - they still haven't released the details of the incident, so I only have Luca's word for it."
