Question about "NSS" starships

Is thee "NSS" designation used by both Nepleslian and NDI vessels?
If so, sould this lead, or has this ever lead, to IC confusion (mistaking a reference to a Nepleslian ship for a Neriman one, or vice versa, especially if both the NDI and the SAN have a ship with that name)?
 
In the case of a ship itself, this is true. In the case of someone referring to the NSS Big Scary Warship having recently bombarded Generic Helpless Colony Planet, this is not true.
 
I've always considered NSS to stand for Nepleslian Star Ship.

There would be no confusion, I believe, to answer your question.
 
I dug around and found this post outlining what NDI forces were around a while ago. Since more recent roleplaying contributions from Derran have reused some of the names in the linked document, I guess it should be accurate.

Therefore, yeah, it seems the NDI does use he N.S.S. acronym in front of their ships too.
 
By the way, these guys are still around, right? Last I heard, they had some stuff in the Yamatai galaxy/universe, including a "mineral-rich" planet in the Nepleslia system, possibly other planets elsewhere, and a fleet or two out exploring unexplored parts of the galaxy.
 
The 1st Confederate Expeditionary Fleet is the NDI's sole military contingent in the Yamataian galaxy.

They control two worlds - Xylar, an oceanic world and Ether, a mineral rich world but that is some 40 LY away from Yamatai in the galactic north.
 
Can I get a flag to fly over the Nerimian systems on the space map?
 
I thought so too once, but I had misread their colonisation of that new planet. They don't have a planet in the Nepleslians' home system.
