Range Redux! (Kind of ^^;)

Before you ask, no this is not a general range thread. :lol: This is more a range thread for small personal weapons.

I was thinking about the designing, in the near future, something like a civilian spear gun, hawaiian sling, and/or spear pole when I realized I had no clue where to look up gun stats. I think that I may have asked these questions before; however, it has been a while. So without further ado:

1) Where could one look up specifications or stats on basic military guns? Does anyone have a favorite website that they prefer?
2) does anyone know where I can look up stats on hunting or fishing gear, with specifications such as effective range, speed of shot, weight, ammunition weight, etc.?

Thanks. I was talking about underwater range. This is better than what I find and it does give me lots of terms to search around with. ;3


I did however manage to get someone on 4chan/k/ (weapons lover's board) to answer that pole-spear go roughly 7.5 ft or 2.8 m.
Since I cannot find anything on a Hawaiin spears distance, I was going to approximate that Hawaiian spears where only like 10% or 20% better (meaning 8.25 - 9 ft or 2.5 - 2.7 m).
