Ranks/Promotions Question

What do you do when you have a character that was in a plot from July 13, 2012 to November 9, 2014 and you've always actively posted when there was something relevant to your character to post about but it never received a promotion because your GM went off to join the navy and leave forever without promoting anyone in his last post? Like what do you do besides cry and then cry harder when you look for an obnoxious animated crying emoticon and don't see one available as you ponder this?

I mean I'm sure the answer in the past was suck it up but now it's YE 35+2 and 2013+2.
And now we have occupations tied to rank. What if I want my Neko to be the most corrupt and incompetent military policewoman ever? She's only 1 rank away!

My mew-mew was in Task Force Lantern and I ain't hating on Kokuten. He was being kind just writing us an ending and gming some stuff for us for a while. The plot did die/semi-died multiple times and it did alternate between 3 GMs/co-GMs.

Also, is it still super uncool for a Neko to say, "Gee whiz, why not become a guy since I'm on a ship surrounded by hawt girls and I certainly wouldn't mind some extra attention?"

I believe there is/was a check on the new orders request sheet for promotion/awards update. This should get the character promoted based on their roleplay regardless of who your GM was.
 
If your character writes a letter to Star Army Personnel explaining the situation, then they can probably give you a single or double promotion. Or you could update her history include a transfer and promotion and get it re-approved in the character submission forum.
 
If there's enough people from the plot who want to push the characters to new places, I can always write up a general awards/promotions notice for the plot, and post it in the orders threads.
