I have the exact same laptop, I must try this some time (unfortunately all my manga is on the HDD that's sitting next to my mousepad atm)

1. Stick page scans in a .rar file.
2. Rename it to .cbr, with the system set to display file extensions for all files.
3. Open in CDisplay Comic Reader.
4. ???
5. Profit!

I use ACDSee, which kicks arse for all my image viewing needs except for the minor niggle that it can't view inside RAR files reliably (though ZIPs it's fine with).
