Background:
We recently encountered some pirate activity in the Taiie system while trying to deploy our Kante boarder monitoring stations. Such activities cannot be tolerated in the systems under the 5th Expeditionary Fleet's control and are interrupting the flow of goods, people and vessels from Taiie.
Our long-range scans have indicating that a second wave of pirates originally headed to one of our planned Kante sites turned back towards the Kilnar System when our ships intercepted their comrades.
A week previous to this attack, an Oberon Transport out of Yamatai was making a schedule run to the 5th Expeditionary Fleet when it disappeared after reporting a series of unknown contacts.
A message followed (Just after we took escort over the group interrupting our operations at Taiie) demanding a ransom and a sum of special assets ranging from weapons to starships, as well as the release of their comrades from a group claiming to be the "Xylazi Syndicate.â€
