I'm Only Dancing
Inactive Member
Name: Reis Ivelian
General Information
Species: Geshrin
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Family / Creators: Ari Ivelian (Mother)
Employer: Self-employed.
Occupation: Musician - the other half of Macchiato Sun.
Rank: Somewhere in the vicinity of masses of adoring fans. What does that mean? Civilian bio-weapon test subject? Yeah, that sounds right... for next time PNUgen decides to do something stupid...
Current Assignment: Rock out and steal souls.
Physical Characteristics
Height: 155 cm
Weight: 49 kg
Bra Size: B32
Build and Skin Colour: Pale skin of golden olive tone flushes even and smooth across a delicate figure, attractively built with voluptuous curves and enchanting grace, something like a faerie. Or a Neko, without the killing intentions. She is oft quick to point out this notable difference, but that's another story...
Facial Features and Eye Colour: Reis is pretty, though perhaps not capable of stopping crowds with her beauty (but her fame does that sometimes anyway, so whatever). Blue-grey eyes set against a slightly round, soft-featured visage are the most captivating of her features, though some could be drawn to the Eros' bow of her lips, or the outlandish hairstyles she often partakes in... She has a piercing in her upper lip, two on the left eyebrow, and three in each ear. All are typically occupied by thin silver loops.
Hair Colour and Style: Currently (it changes frequently, typically once every two months or so), Reis' hair is shoulder length and raven black, streaked with highlights of molten scarlet. She sometimes lets it fall free, and sometimes binds it loosely into a cascading style set atop and back of her head.
Distinguishing Features: None of particular note, but fame can make it very hard to be inconspicuous anyway.
Psychological Characteristics
Personality:
Sweet as clover honey and molasses, Reis is friendly and outgoing with everyone, and extremely empathic - she can be a counseling hand, a shoulder to cry on, someone who listens, as necessary, and is very good at kowing what is needed when. She is overly emotional, and good judgement has taken a second place to passion and fury, but she is not overtly active in said passions and furies, preferring to express herself through music and poetry, outbursts are rare and usually limited to dealing with Lain. On Lain, the man has shaped her persona more than every other influence in her life. She loves him more than anything, and spends every effort trying to help him find some stability, with little success. Lain's often violent fits of depression typically leave her in a dismissive funk for days. She herself is similar in some ways, harboring beneath everything else a certain amount of depression, but she rarely lets that get to the surface, preferring to let it fester quietly as a mental disease.
Likes: Lain, music, the smell of fresh-cut wood, peaches, talking, starships
Dislikes: Military, conflict, guns, smoke.
Goals: To help Lain find himself.
History
Reis was raised by a single mother through her life, and as such often had little to no adult supervision. She did not attend school through the most of her childhood, spending the time instead scribbling away at diaries, cataloguing (sp?) her thoughts on the day, the world around her, and the abstract nature of thought. As she grew older, long diatribes on minor annoyances or gushing reminescences of little joys slowly ceased to occupy her, and her attention began turning to poetic work, and eventually, lyrics. With writing lyrics, came the next logical step.
She saved money, and at twelve, bought a cheap plywood accoustic guitar from a pawn shop, and began teaching herself how to play. Over the next several years, further instruments slowly added themselves to her collection: a crappy electric piano, a cello with a warped body, a tambourine (actually in quite good condition, she recieved it at an excellent price), and several makeshift drums crafted from cans, bottles, and similar such things. At eighteen, she was quite the virtuoso master of experimental music on broken instruments...
...and at eighteen, she also met the love of her life, Lain Irokawa, in a low-end dive in southern Kyoto. He played a set onstage, mesmerized the poor girl, and after his show, she sought him out, and they spent a long while discussing music. Then, as you likely already know, they fell in "rock love" - proof that Orion spends way too much time reading Amanda Palmer's blog.
Five years and two albums later, Reis actually had posession of several high-quality, expensive instruments and some clothes that weren't bought cheap at the thrift store. She kept, however, the entire makeshift drumkit, all thirty-four pieces, and has played it for background in fourteen of the nineteen songs they have recorded.
Skills
Entertainment: Reis is a capable musician. Her talents, being self-taught, are all somewhat rough at the edges, but many contend that is half the charm of her playing. She plays guitar, tambourine, cello, and drums rather well, and can sing four octaves. Her voice is sweet, but she has no formal training and this sometimes shows through.
Culinary: While Reis won't win any cooking competitions any time soon, the fact remains she is fantastic at creating delicious meals out of ingredients most people would overlook, and has come up with many combinations of food that could get her lynched at any formal cooking school, that nonetheless present delightful nourishment. Her favorite among them? Chocolate-filled gyoza, deep-fried in olive oil, nutmeg, and saffron. She calls this particular dish the "Chocolate Awesomesauce".
Art: Reis is an excellent writer and poet, though suffers from a slight tendency to go on long, rampaging rants.
Physical: Reis is a very proficient dancer, and loves dancing immensely. Astounding natural grace adds much to this. It makes her feel free, she says sometimes. Or maybe she just likes the attention it gets for her, from Lain.
