Ah yes, everyone knows the Ronin, and the Ronin Elite, but I feel that it is time for an upgrade to this usefull, but negelcted Fighter.

Name: Ronin Alpha

Government: Lorath, but up for sale once in production.

class: Ronin Fighter

Manufacture: Lorath (Not sure who does their ship building, so I would like someone to fill me in)

Crew: 1 Pilot

I need to go look at our power sources and stuff, so I'm going to be updating this over the week. I would love suggestions.

You're going about this in the wrong way.

It's best if you whip open an instance of your favorite text editor or two and start making notes about relevant subjects on the web (slap "engine" in digg.com's search and you get some very interesting stuff).

Next off, follow the templates given. These can be found on the main site enterence and are invaluble.

Then see what everyone else is doing and try to see if your idea has a niche at all or if it can be adapted for such a purpose.

Finally, cobble your concepts into your text editor and refine it time after time with someone to provide feedback (you can contact me at osakaakakaoru for yahoo or xerocold(AT)gmail(DOT)com for MSN) who's patient enough to follow your ideas and listen to you.

Personally, I like to get fairly drunk and sit down with some research papers or a few books and take notes and make sketches of what I think my "thing" would look like.
The next morning after a prarie oyster, I sift through the cremation of ideas and wonder what I must have been smoking but then I see gems I wouldn't have otherwise thought of in the mess.

If you want feedback this early with this little, check out the Question & Answer forum for this sort of thing.

Just ask things like "what's a typical price and production rate for so and so" or "Who produce X kind of equipment on Lor?"

Keep at it and don't feel discouraged.

Part of the problem is "What is available, cheap, and easy to produce on such and such a planet"

We need a shipbuliding guide, or at least a ordered list of all the available tech for ships.

Read through the ships.
Ask questions.

This stuff isn't lain out in manuals and users are expected to explore the setting thuroughly before they make contributions.

I have...hell, I'm going to ask this to be locked, untill such a time that I finally compile the shipbuilding guide for parts. Not everyone wants to look through every single ship to find parts, and a good deal don't know who to ask, or are too afriad to half the time. My reason is most the time no one is on to ask when I am on to do this.

In many cases, there are not specific parts unless you're recycling something else.

I recommend you take a shot at scratch-building something or converting a previous hull with new specially adapted parts.

if you're having issues, contact me.
