Valhalla, Tatiana - The Saiga Psychogenetics Research Laboratories, a corporation wholly owned by Yamatai's Saiga Clan, has obtained necessary license from several key departments within the Yamatai Star Empire's government to administrate and begin terraforming the E-4 star system. The Clan additionally announced an expansion and reorganization of their business interests into a broader Saiga Holding Company as the next step in SP Labs' decade of corporate diversification.

According to the statement, the project could not proceed as long as the Interstellar Kingdom of Kuvexia waged war against Yamatai. But with the Star Army's decisive victory at the Battle of Glimmergold and the subsequent disintegration of major Kuvexian threats to the Kikyo Sector, officials in the Imperial government felt comfortable allowing the Saiga venture to proceed in full.
"This new dawning of peace for our Empire presents a unique opportunity to expand the prosperity of Yamatai to every place in the Kikyo Sector," said clan daimyo and SP Labs CEO Dr. Saiga Sakiko at a company press conference in Tatiana's capital city of Valhalla. "Unique, novel terraforming technologies and methods developed in-house at Saiga Labs have provided us with an unprecedented ability to shape this system's nearly-habitable second planet. We intend to do so with great haste, as well as provide the Empire with a bastion of long-required stability in the region."
Star System E-4 is situated approximately halfway between the Bard Cluster's westmost systems and the recently-renamed Motoyoshi Colonial Sector, formerly known as the Outer Colonies region. It inhabits a commanding point on the Tatiana-Outer Colonies Spacelane, and is currently undeveloped save for a Bisen Lighthouse dropped off in orbit over E-4-V by the Star Army in YE 36. The system's second planet, which is the target of the Saiga Company's terraforming project, is resource rich and ripe for atmospheric refinement and colonization. Scientific Studies Service surveys indicate that E-4-II's only natural fault lies in its extremely steamy, humid atmosphere that, according to the SSS, "can cause a person to drown."
A new space station will be constructed to facilitate the terraforming project and serve as the major commerce hub along the spacelane. Preliminary plans for the station outline extensive hydroponics capabilities, ample space set aside for research and development facilities, comfortable accommodations for residents and visitors, and vast cargo yards. Additional station sections are reportedly set aside for Star Army patrol squadron basing and a Yamatai Security Agency customs checkpoint.

SP Labs is based on Planet Yamatai and was founded in YE 30 by Sakiko, who had previously worked on the Ningyo Heiki synthetic body project as a genetic psychologist. Since its inception, the company grew to produce a wide range of products beyond its original mandate of genetic research. Saiga Holding Company, or Saika Mochikabu Kaisha in Yamataigo, will be headquartered on Tatiana with major production facilities on Yamatai and elsewhere throughout the Empire due to Tatiana's strict environmental regulations.
