Kikyo walked into the Academy without her jacket, she had left it behind for a more laid back look than her look already gave her, her guns of course were still with her. It was about half an hour early but Kikyo still made her way to Mordachai's door and tried to see if it was unlocked.

Mordachai's door was not locked, but niether was he in bed. His bed had been made flawlessly. There wasn't a crease in it anywhere, and on top of the blanket was a data pad with a letter addressed to the Elysian, but the sender's name was not able to be read.

Stepping in Kikyo looked around, "Hello?" She asked before she walked over to the bed and looked down at the datapad lying there.

No answer came to her greeting, and everything was silent. As Kikyo walked through the room, she would see just what she was getting into with her new recruit. Beside the bed was a violin case, papers were folded and lay in files on a small table in the corner of the room. On the chair lay the holster and gun that Mordachai had been wearing the other day. Supplies for the care of that gun lay beside the case.

After glancing about the room alittle more before she picked up and scanned what was on the datapad quickly.

"Feloriel, Congratulations on infiltrating the Neko's intelligence agency. You are a better operative than I would have ever guessed. Now, you only need to gain the trust of a high ranking official, and start the flow of their secrets to us. We will be avenged for the injustices to our people. I await your correspondence....." The note ended in what seemed like encrypted letters of the name of the person who had wrote it.

Kikyo frowned and addressed the computer, "Can you please give me a location on Feloriel T'Achten?"

"He is outside the door at your current location." The Computer responded promptly.

Drawing her gun, she opened the door and levelled it at the man outside, "Get in here." She hissed from between clenched teeth.

Mordachai had been walking back to his room from the mess hall, and was slightly surprised to approach his room only to have a gun levelled on him. Realizing quickly he had no means of escape in the hallway, and no weapon, he followed the orders of his superior and walked into his room, walking to stand in front of his beareau, hands behind his back. "Yes, Mistress Kikyo, Ma'am?"

"Perhaps you can explain the meaning of this..." She looked down at the datapad and began to read, "Feloriel, Congratulations on infiltrating the Neko's intelligence agency. You are a better operative than I would have ever guessed. Now, you only need to gain the trust of a high ranking official, and start the flow of their secrets to us. We will be avenged for the injustices to our people. I await your correspondence....." She looked up at him, "Do you have an explanation?"

Mordachai smiled that annoying smirk and nodded. "I do, Ma'am." He unclasped his hands and leaned towards the pad. "May I?"

Kikyo handed the datapad back to him, "No sudden movements."

"Of course not." Mordachai said, looking over the edge of the pad. "Now, Mistress, if you would have taken the time, instead of letting your temper flare so, you would have used your computer and language cracking skills to find this....." He turned the pad around, and showed that the name at the bottom of the page had been encrypted with a mediocre program, and the word wasn't a name, but "TEST". "You seem to know much about me, Ma'am.....And I was merely trying you to see your reaction to finding this.....Surely you realized that something was wrong the instant you walked through the door....Why would the door of an assassin be locked, with important information, and his weapon, lying right out in the open?" He didn't speak with a condescending, or disrespectful tone, but one that was bordering on confusion and amusement.

"I'm sorry..." Kikyo said and put the gun away, "Its been...a rough week or so..."

"I understand fully, Mistress Kikyo." Mordachai said, flipping the pad onto the bed, where it slid and bounced right off the other side. He walked over to the chair in the corner and picked up his gun, strapping it to his belt, and the lower strap around his left thigh. "I have heard of the things that have been happening, but if you wish not to speak of them, I believe that it is about time for our first training session together, is it not?" The elysian turned slowly, wrapping his wings around the shoulders of his deep blue shirt, which had been tucked into a pair of pants that were tighter than those he wore yesterday, but not form fitting.

Kikyo sighed and glanced out the window briefly, "No training really, I'm taking you into the field. I have been reassigned to the YSS Rave by the Mistress Taisho, I'll take you if you have no objections of course."

Mordachai bowed to his superior. "If that is what you wish to do, Ma'am, then I do not object to your, or the Mistress Taisho's desires." The angel didn't understand if this was correct, but the mention of "mistress", meant to Mordachai that whoever it was, they were important in some way. Letting this go, Mordachai looked around his room. "Should I repack my things, Mistress?"

"Yeah, I'll help you... If you would like help of course." Kikyo looked about the room at the neat sense of order it, she wished her life was as well ordered as his room was.

He nodded once and reached under his bed, pulling out his two large duffel bags, both of which seemed surprisingly full. "You may help if you want, Mistress, but it will take no time at all to pack." From one of his bags, Mordachai pulled another of his datapads and hit a button on it, and his room seemed to fade, and the facade he had put up disappeared. He then started going around the room picking up the four hologram emission devices he had created from parts in his room. For the most part, his room was as it looked, but he had hid his table top, bed, and bureau in holograms. He put them in his bag, next came the violin case, and then the rifle that had been fastened to the underside lip of his bed.

"My mother plays the violin... Tell me are you any good at it?" Kikyo smiled as she watched him put the stuff away, the man intrigued her more and more every minute she spent in his company.

Mordachai just shrugged as he folded clothes out of drawers and a closet with militaristic efficiency. "I play well enough to get by....but usually I am alone when I play, so it is a different sort of scale of quality."

"I see..." She let her voice trail off and she just stood there watching him silently.

Mordachai sighed to himself, deciding not to speak anymore for fear he was boring his superior. Plus, he couldn't see how any of this was relevant to his advancement, so therefore it wasn't necessary. The Elysian flapped his wings once, and then shouldered his packed, and closed, bags, turning to stand in silence facing his Instructor.

Kikyo sighed, "Well then, I guess you are ready... Follow me, I need to head to the palace to pick up my things."

Mordachai nodded and let all emotion wash from his face. He became like a great moving statue, following his Mistress, the Taisa Kikyo. His mind was set to thinking, "this woman is very dangerous, and now I can understand why she was assigned to me....We have much in common, and much we both need to learn...."

They walked along in silence, her hands were held rigidly behind her back, she would not dare show any more emotion to this man or anyone else for that matter.

Mordachai laughed softly as he watched her. In his room, she had been more open than anyone, undrugged, had been with him, and now, she was not going to speak, and was as rigid as a board.

Kikyo glanced at him from the corner of her eye, "Something amusing?"

"No Ma'am." Mordachai said, looking away, and biting his lip to keep from laughing more. "Nothing is amusing ma'am....Just having a quick laugh to get it out of my system, Ma'am."

Her violet eyes took on an amused _expression, "What is so funny?"

Mordachai shrugged slightly. "It's just that in my room just a moment ago, you were very interested in me, and life in general, and now....You look like someone put a bar of thick metal down your back. You are so stiff, and mean looking.....Are you putting on a front for someone?"

"I am usually putting on a front..." Kikyo paused and looked around the street, "People exploit weakness when they see it in those around them, I refuse to be exploited. When I get close to opening up to someone I have a tendancy to shut myself up..." She shrugged, "It is... my nature."

"I understand, and won't bring it up again.* Mordachai said, and his face went to being like that of stone. He shifted his bags to the other shoulder and nodded.

"Its alright." Kikyo smiled, "Might be interesting to talk to someone for once."

A single snort and chuckle came from the elysian as he started to look around the area. The houses were getting more and more nice as they progressed towards the palace. "Talking is fine, so long as it isn't to just feel one's lips move."

A small laugh escaped Kikyo, "You are an odd man."

Now it was Mordachai's turn to laugh. "So I've been told, Mistress, so I've been told."

The woman thought a moment, "You may call me Kikyo."

Mordachai nodded. "As you wish, Mistre-, I mean, Kikyo."

Kikyo looked up when she realized they had made it to the palace, "Well here we are, home sweet home." Her voice was laced with sarcasm.

Mordachai set his bags down and looked up at the palace with a smile. "Hmmm, quite the beautiful place."

Kikyo had started up to the entrace, "Coming?"

Nodding, Mordachai grabbed his bags, and hurried after Kikyo. Once again, it didn't seem like he struggled with the bags in the least as he bounded up the stairs.

She led him through the halls of the palace until she reached her rooms, she opened the door and let him in. It was not messy, probably due to the fact that there was barely anything inside the room, the woman really was her job. "Take a seat if you'd like, I'll only be a few moments."

Mordachai smiled at seeing the sparse surroundings. He walked a few steps into he room, and sat down on the floor on the right side of the door. He set his bags behind him and leaned against them, watching her move around her "home."

"Would you like anything?" Kikyo asked from another room.

"No Miss Kikyo, I'm fine, I just finished a light breakfast." He said, shifting to lean against his bags. Mordachai had never been inside a palace before, and if this room was just for the daughter of the empress, what must the empress' room look like?

The door to the room opened and a neko stepped inside, she was dressed in the traditional garments of the Ketsurui clan a white shirt, with loose red pants, and a pleated red hakama over a white kimono with a golden chestpiece. Her dark blue and black hair was pulled up on her head in a mass of tumbling curls held in place by golden hair pins. She stopped as she entered and fixed her dark blue eyes on Mordachai, "Hello..." She said, her voice was very even and calm, "I am here to see my daughter, where is she?" She was quite obviously perplexed as to who the gentleman was.

Mordachai slowly rose, as was customary when a woman entered the room. He looked the woman over slowly, and then looked in the direction of where Kikyo had gone. "I believe, Ma'am, that she is in that room off to your right."

Her eyes scanned over him once more before she moved into the room Kikyo was occupying, after a few moments of conversation they exited together. Ayame smiled at Mordachai, "I understand you are Kikyo's student."

Mordachai smiled and bowed slightly, as, while the two were talking, he realized who he had just met. "Yes Empress." The Elysian then bowed deeper, more respectfully, keeping his eyes off of her until she granted him that freedom.

Kikyo laughed, "You can look at her, she won't bite you for it."

"Perhaps I should leave you to pack, I just didn't want you to leave without saying goodbye again." Ayame glanced at Mordachai, "Don't let her be too hard on you."

Mordachai laughed at Kikyo's joke, and then to Ayame, the Elysian smiled. "She's already shot me once, Ma'am...I don't know what I should do....She is a superior, and has proven she is good with a gun."

"Kikyo!" Ayame sounded shocked, "You didn't?!"

Kikyo laughed and shrugged a little, "He was being..." She glanced at Mordachai, she had no wish to offend the man, "I'll put this as diplomatically as I can, he was being an ass."

Mordachai laughed uproariously at this scene, and the way Kikyo explained it diplomatically.

"The two of you will get along fine I see." Ayame smiled, "Try not to kill him Kikyo, your father won't be happy if you go around murdering his recruits."

"I can always say he just went AWOL if I get rid of the body mother." Kikyo smiled mischeviously, "You taught me better than to leave loose ends lying around."

"Well, I will try to be a good little boy, Ma'am....and I promise to keep my hands to myself." Mordacai said, winking to kikyo and wiggling his fingers.

Ayame looked at Mordachai, "Well forgive my intrusion, I heard of the orders change and I had the palace computer tell me when Kikyo returned so she couldn't sneak out again." Ayame smiled, "Take care of each other, don't let Naraku catch either of you off guard." She kissed her daughter on her cheek and left the room.

Kikyo exhaled sharply after her mother left, "Well I think I'm ready." She walked into the other room and grabbed her back, "Shall we?"

Mordachai smiled and nodded. "Of course, Kikyo. If you don't mind me asking, where is it that we are going?" Standing and picking his bag, he turned to look at her. "Would you like me to carry that, Ma'am?"

Kikyo actually blushed, "Ah, yes perhaps you should know your assignment." She paused to collect herself, "The YSS Wicked will be escorting us to Neplesia where we are to locate Naraku and capture her along with Empress Yuumi who is believed to be held somewhere within Funky City."

Mordachai nodded, recognizing the names of some of his assignment. "Naraku....isn't she....Former Empress Yui's....relation?"

"Yes, her sister I believe." Kikyo said. "There is also a secondary assignment I'd like you to handle."

Mordachai looked at his commander and nodded. "And what would that be, Kikyo?"

"There is an Elysian member of SAINT who has aroused my suspicion, I'd like you to carry out the investigation..." She smiled, "Best way to get you started." She handed him a datapad, "On this you'll find a couple of articles and tests, and on this one..." She pulled out another and handed it to him, "You will find information on your assignment."

Mordachai took all of this information in with silent resolve. He would find this other member of SAINT that his mistress spoke of, and he would find out everything he could. At hearing about the tests, he took the datapads and nodded. He had much to think about on his way back out to Neplesia, and that meant that he didn't have time to be dillydallying around. But there was always time for being polite, so he smiled and said, "Thank you Kikyo, I will do my best to not let you down."

"I'm sure you won't let me down..." For some reason Kikyo could say that with almost absolute certainty, for another odd reason she was actually a little attracted to the man. "The tests themselves shouldn't take you too long I imagine and there is no rush, have it to me whenever you are ready. The YSS Wicked is actually empty, it will just be the two of us on board so you can have plenty of solitude if you require it."

Mordachai nodded and followed Kikyo through the palace and out into the shuttle. He tucked the pads away for something to do on the ship as they were travelling.
