Approved Character Samantha Wheelwright

Gardener in the dark

Samatha Wheelwright

I would like for her adoptive father to be a either a VIP in Nepleslian politics, or a VIP buisness man. I'd sorta prefer to be able to change it to someone already somewhat important in the mythos, but I don't really know who's appropriate. I got some permission from Tom for this, and he's said that I'll need someone to NPC the adoptive father.

For the record I see the adoptive father as exploitative but not abusive.

You really need to learn the difference between "it's" and "its." I made several corrective edits.

Samantha is capable and trained in high level and highly cerebral journalism, the neutral reporting of the facts.
Trained where? By whom?

Other than that, I don't see anything that needs changing.

She could have been trained by the Nepleslian News Network (NNN) offices. It would certainly fit her history.

Edited, tho I'd like to discuss her potential adopted father with people... I mean, how hard is it to get a GM to NPC a VIP character for you?

And what good VIP characters would work in the slot that Norman currantly fills?

I could play the father if you want.

Also, the 'first family' of Nepleslia is the Vanderhuges, you'd have to talk with moonman about using them though.

I'd be glad to have you play her father. And I'm starting to think that going with the Vanderhuges might be a bit overdoing it, so he'll probably just be some GMNPC who's a VIP but not as much of a VIP as the Vanderhuges.

Just a simple question, do we have the various 'cybernetic' systems she has in the wiki?

I... don't know?

Edit: Yes, a lot of them are under the "General cybernetics" pages. The skin one is not, and even though I think it should be fairly easy to make, the radio one doesn't seem to be either.

I also can't find full sensory uploads, which is weird because that's a very very common sci-fi trope. For feelies, where you get into a VR system and experence whatever the recorder did.

Well the general rule is that you can not use something that is not wikified. I would propose that since these implants are rather unique that as long as their capabilities are documented on the character form clearly, that it should not hold it up.

Off hand, Samantha appears to be more machine that living.

There are a few things that need to be clarified

She has a handful of small hidden compartments in her body that she can open and store objects in. The locations of these need to be listed.

Occasionally she will be asked to have her cybernetics turned off when entering top secrete areas. So she basically becomes a blind person, who can't use her neat tricks, unless she decides to override. Not much of a security feature.

A small microphone is embedded in her throat, picking up on her sub-vocal utterances. As heavily cybernetic as she is, does she really need to use sub-vocal, why not just think them for playback.

The News Drone will need to be written up separately and submitted as a tech item.

What operating system are her chips designed to interface into, along with her dataports.?

Hrm...
1. Will get to that shortly

2. I need to specify that they can be turned off piecewise so her eyesight doesn't need to be affected unless the commander wants it to be for some reason.

3. good point!

4. Will do!

Just need her to make the other requested clarifications and she'll be good to go
