Kyoto, Yamatai - In the midst of fierce debate over the military's ability to control its inventory of the NH-series Nekovalkyrja weapon bodies used by Star Army Nekovalkyrja soldiers, the newly-elected Senator Erik Reinhardt of the backwater Kilnar star system surprised and disgusted those in attendance by brazenly producing and lighting a tobacco pipe in the middle of the Imperial Palace's senate hall in blatant violation of planet Yamatai's total smoking ban. He was quickly subdued by military police officers providing security during the proceedings. Senator Reinhardt was elected by the votes primarily coming from the 500 Jiyuuian Refugee camps on Kilnar, whose 9 million rugged frontier residents value independent and bold leaders. Reinhart was convicted speedily and faces 48 hours in jail and a 10,000 KS fine. He plans to return to the senate as soon as he is able.
