The Star Army Research Administration has recently been rolling out full adoption of their Innovation Awards scheme and their logistical support network for Engineers and Scientists. Under this programme, scientific and engineering achievements that can benefit the Star Army are awarded and encouraged more opernly. Inventors, prototypers, field testers and companies are all given appropriate awards and recognition by the new rewards. These include various pieces of art and equipment made of precious metals, some of which can be used in the place of standard Star Army uniform. Various examples are belt buckles, pins, patches, engineering equipment and plaques. To be eligible, your project needs to be registered with SARA, which often comes with a patch you can choose to wear on your uniform.
Additionally, those in Star Army Science or Star Army Engineering positions will now be provided an overall reporting structure under the new SARA reforms. For matters not related to military operations but in regards to inventing, engineering, research or testing efforts, SARA has been reformed to provide access to specialist services, funding, knowledge sharing and more. Star Army Scientists will be provided with assistance by the Research Division, Star Army Engineers will be provided with assistance by the Development Division. Aspiring inventors can take advantage of all Divisions. Engineers and Scientists can be matched up when they can mutually benefit each other.
Furthermore, the Acquisitions Division helps to detail, acquire and award bounties for companies providing the Star Army with useful equipment. The Testing Division helps to organise, facilitate and award both field and lab tests for new equipment. Anyone with the appropriate skills can apply for a permanent or temporary position within a SARA division. In the division, or working on their behalf, you are provided with the appropriate patch.
Even when on deployment or other assignment, you can apply to be patched by a division if you have a project in mind. Scientists and Engineers can be patched even if they don't have an active project - they will instead be provided with a project or activity to work on as condition of this. Anyone else working on their own project can apply to be patched by SARA for the duration of their own project. Anyone who is patched is eligible for Innovation Awards, although people who invent and then inform SARA after the fact may still be eligible after the fact.
