What kind of signal? Subspace? What's the relationship between the transmitter and the frame? Your paragraph is unclear.Transmitter: Set into the wall to the left of the entrance, this small panel contains a transmitter with a 1.4 AU range fully powered, including a less power distress beacon. The panel can be detached for mobility, with a seperate emergency battery that lasts a week. However, only the beacon will work at effective range. The transmitter requires a clear line of sight to orbit or the local area in this mobile mode to maintain longevity, and disconnected from the metal frame that provides a boost atmospherically.
Huh? Sausage links? Links of chain?a grid of diagonal links

What material is the tent made of?

Your atypical volatic cells, specifically one in backpack form takes about six hours or so to charge a laptop's battery. (Waits for Osa to comment on what he just said.)
Because, if it is subspace, you're going to need a decent battery to sustain it, or a decent power source.
