Name:Â Ralhassil "Scarlet" Lilian
General Information
Species:Â Elysian Plebeian
Gender: Female
Age:Â 29
Family (or Creators): Her mother, Milael, was a perfectly normal, happy Distante performer. Her father, Kasnafil, was an industrial worker. She fit in somewhere in the middle.
Employer:Â Currently freelance.
Occupation:Â Traveller
Rank: NA
Current Assignment: NA
Physical Characteristics
Height: 165cm/5'6"
Weight: 60kg/132 lbs
Bra Size: B-30
Build and Skin Color:Â Scarlet is fairly slender, though she has a well-toned muscular structure particularly in the legs and upper chest. Her background of strenuous theatrical dancing left her in very good physical shape. Her skin is a tinted pale like sour milk.
Facial Features and Eye Color:Â Scarlet's facial features are fairly plain and even, and not terribly exceptional. She is pretty in her right, Elysians most always are, but all told quite nondescript: a blue-eyed Elysian of the normal scopes.
Hair color and Style:Â Her hair is platinum blonde, straight as straw, and shoulder-length. She usually either lets it fall free or ties it into a simple ponytail and forgets it.
Â
Distinguishing Features: An Elysian without wings. Other than that, nothing too notable.
Psychological Characteristics
Personality: Scarlet is an oddity among Elysians. She is proud of her heritage, but suffering something of an existential crisis. Not entirely certain of her place, or the place of her people, in a strange and violent universe, she has abandoned several staples of the typical Elysian dogma. However, though she is less sure than some on Elysian superiority, she maintains a strongly religious life, and believes firmly in the existence and benevolence of a single God. A God who tests her people harshly, but only out of desire for them to succeed. Scarlet is marked above all other things by curiosity: a desire to see the rest of the Almighty's creation, a desire to see the thoughts and feelings of other species, a desire to understand what it means to be other than Elysian.
Â
Likes: Dancing, aesthetically pleasing music, savory foods, swordplay, incense, pleasent conversation, chess
Dislikes: Arguing, unpleasent sounds, fighting, pain, sweets, not understanding things
Goals: To understand herself, the universe, and God, and to use this understanding to help Elysia find its way.
History
Ralhassil's past has had a rather profound effect on who she is today. It began, as it often does, with her being born. Her parents were not exceptionally wealthy, but neither were they exceptionally poor. Let's call them "middle class". Most of her early life was boring and uneventful, so we will skip straightaway to age thirteen. At age thirteen, she developed her love for dance, passed on from her mother. She set to work almost at once learning to perform both Distante and Grazia. Now and again she would even spare a bit of study to the strictly literary qualities of Poesia.
Growing up in a struggling nation, living through multiple wars with Yamatai, Scarlet came to see things in a very strange light. Life was difficult when the nation was at war, and in the aftermath of conflict things were always hardest. As any Elysian, she agreed their defeat was because they were not close enough to the way. However, by eighteen, she had begun to develop her own unique theological views.
At eighteen she was also pressured by her parents into joining with the military. She conceded to their request, and went to basic training. This she never completed, an extremely low threshold for pain and problems holding a gun steady rendering her unfit for service. She did, however, come out of the ordeal with some measure of experience in close-range combat, if nothing else.
Her parents were less than happy about her failure to be a soldier, but they ultimately accepted that an Elysian army couldn't function without good recruits, and it was for the best. She supported herself for the next several years as a Grazia performer. And though she maintained her somewhat strange thoughts, she didn't act on them.
Only a few months ago, a chance incident set her on her current course. Visiting her father at his workplace, she was the subject of a freak industrial accident which mangled and unceremoniously removed her left wing. In the hospital, she informed the doctors that she did not want it regrown, and instead requested that the other be surgically removed.
Hence began her quest to discover what it was like to not be Elysian.
Skills:
Entertainment
Scarlet is a very accomplished dancer in both Grazia and Distante. She is also passable proficient in Poesia. She can play a scattering of Elysian instruments reasonably well, but is not, and never will be, a virtuoso musician. She has a sweet voice, but not the sort one would want to sing with.
Fighting and Physical
From her failed military training, Scarlet did manage to pick up a few skills. She can wield a xiphos well enough to defend herself, and can wield a phaelaes well enough to fight back with it. Her unarmed combat techniques are far from perfect, but she isn't particularly helpless in a fight. What she didn't learn well was gunplay, something she fails at a lot. Skill in Grazia translates into a fair ability as a tumbler, and she has decent strength and stamina. She lacks profoundly in pain threshold, however.
Leadership
A twin passion for strategy games and the truth of religion led Scarlet to pursue skill in such areas. She is a decent strategist if she understands her situations, and a keen mathematical mind enhances this. She can also speak fluidly and eloquently to large crowds, largely aided by her work with Poesia. She isn't comparable to a military tactician or a skilled senator in either area, but she holds her own well enough.
Communications
Always interested in the other creations of the Almighty, Scarlet is fluent in both English and Japanese in addition to her knowledge of Elysian language. She can read and write in English, and can read and write MOST of what she needs to in Japanese. She still, on occasion, struggles with Kanji.
Domestic
Scarlet lived alone for several years. She learned the necessary tasks to keep herself alive and healthy, such as cooking stir-fries, washing laundry, and cleaning soap-scum out of the shower wells.
