[Senate] No job, no problem

Retired Staff
Roxanne had packed up the last of her office. Her staff had already been sent away; she'd hired who she could keep.

As she picked up the last box, she smiled. Everyone voting sounded much better to her than her representing their interests. Especially ones that varied so widely, even from prefecture to prefecture. Better to let the voters sort it out.

Then again, this theoretically gave more power to the royalty, as now they had no check on their power other than the voters. It would be interesting to see what would happen.

But Roxanne didn't care about that, and turned out the lights to her office without looking back. Now she could enter civilian life again and not have to deal with the goddamn royalty. Good riddance, she thought as she walked away.

And so Maysaki wrapped her arms tightly around Roxxy in a sort of gentle glomp, quickly letting go again, "Psh, You're so slow about packing up, you know that?" She asked teasingly, moving to Roxxane's side, "No longer have to pretend we can do anything, Mm? And we probably won't have any SAINT watching us constantly anymore, hopefully." She nodded softly at her words... Why wouldn't SAINT be watching Senators closely?

"Buuuut... You better visit me from time to time, Alrighty?"

"I will," Roxanne said after a moment. "After I settle back down at home. I'm just pissed ... now it's up to the imperials to do everything. Planetary governments were already hard up for power; now they're powerless, no question."

She hefted the box in her hands again as she stepped into an elevator at the end of the hall. "Guess we'll see who survives. And how."
