RP: NSS Alliance [Senior Staff, NSS Alliance] Witch Hunt

"Because this is the only attitude that she has shown. She had even brought along bodyguards to reinforce that image she wished to convey and to further her enhance her abilities to be confrontational. It is the exact negotiating style which Yamatai uses to subjugate worlds. This is not the image that the Nepleslian Empire needs to be conveying.â€

Miller rubbed his forehead while the verbal batterings flew across the room. He slowly counted to ten...

1... 2...

Matthew was a bit startled as his Captain blew up at the senior staff plus one diplomat. He was expecting it to happen sooner or later, but that didn't mean he was prepared for the explosive force of Miller's frustration and anger. Swallowing hard, Matthew proceeded with listening to the voice recordings Ally had.

Sure, she sounds a bit pompous, but isn't that how all officials are supposed to be? Matt thought calmly.

Sub-Lieutenant Endurain just chuckled from where he was, glad he'd escaped the captain's rage, at least by direct naming. He wouldn't say anything til he heard what everyone else had to say, quietly processing what was being said. Miller was making cogent pointed left and right and figuratively slapping Wazu and Soreta around. He personally thought the two needed to bone and get it out of their systems.

Lionheart also had some good points about separating them. "I personally think that the lieutenant here has better things to worry about than Soreta anyway." He said.

Miller nodded.

"Sounds like fairly reasonable request, Cadet," he said. "We'll keep you two away from each other so that you can both do your jobs properly."

He shifted his vision to Jet.

"So, Sub Lieutenant, you're going to assign the bodyguard for our diplomat here."

The Captain sighed.

"Do we have anything else to discuss?"

"If it's all the same to you, Captain, I would prefer to return to privacy. I will follow your instructions...but I won't curtsy. That would require I wear a skirt." A smile, and a slight laugh escaped Soreta. In truth, she was relieved that the situation was over...although she had to be more careful from now on.

Jet looked over at Miller and nodded, the meeting itself had been relatively pointless once Wazu's points fell apart. There was no denying that Soreta was a pain in the butt but right now it'd be better to keep that to oneself. He blinked, taking a step back when he saw her smile. "Wow Soreta, you look a lot better when you actually smile." He pointed out with a shrug, rubbing his head he sighed. "Guess I gotta confiscate those weapons of yours then find someone who'd be willing to keep an eye on you while you're here."

"I don't make a point of smiling much. Maybe that's a mistake." And Soreta turned to leave, just as she was asked to confiscate her weapons. "...I understand your predicament. This is a military ship...but if it's all the same, I'd like to at least keep the Type 29, and the daisho. You'll understand that I'm notably a bit wary about stepping onto a ship full of men unprotected."

Matthew seemed frozen to his seat for the moment, waiting for at least the Executive Officer and Diplomat to leave before relaxing at all. Keeping his eyes away from Wazu, Matthew made an attempt to at least look psuedo-normal in front of everyone. But he had just pointed out a superior's mistake in front of the Captain and that was something that no one of lesser rank ever felt comfortable with, especially a Cadet who was just a week or so out of the Academy.

I wonder what the Lieutenant is thinking about now? I would certainly understand if he thinks little of me now, though his feelings about what I said are pretty irrelevant now...I guess. Matt thought as his gaze fixated upon a nearby console, his appearance still expressionless.

Jet looked over at her and nodded about the smiling thing. "It's a mistake not to smile when the situation could be helped by it." He said and shrugged. "I can let you keep the 29 but I'm afraid the daisho set's going to have to remain decoration for now. And you aren't the only woman on this ship though, the messhall is maintained by 3 women so no complaining." he said with an amused chuckle.

Miller didn't bother responding to Soreta's statement, not seeing the humor in it. Nor did he see the humor in the small talk Jet was having.

"Unless anyone has anything else to say, you're all dismissed," Miller said. "Have some breakfast and get ready for the briefing. Soreta, you'll be joining us for that too, so make sure you check your attitude at the door before you get to the cafeteria."

"Lieutenant, I want to have a word with you in private."

Quietly standing up from his seat, the young warrant officer turned towards the door and walked calmly towards it. Passing by Jet, he left the room to head towards mess hall.

Jet turned and nodded to them all before following the others out and heading off to do his job. He would hold open interviews to try to find who would keep an eye on Soreta without pissing her off and without killing her.

After everyone had left, the captain gazed at the statueesque figure that was the Lieutenant. "Hmm..."

It seemed that he was punishing himself quite badly, but the captain wouldn't let him off the hook that easily.

Wazu merely stood at attention, looking forward but not directly at the captain. His arms were folded neatly behind his back and while out of sight he used his index finger to cut against the skin at the base of his thumb. He tried to keep his stoic face but he couldn't stop himself from feeling like he was ready to wince.

Miller let the Lieutenant stew a few seconds more before he spoke. "So, Lieutenant, let's review what just transpired, shall we?â€
