I'm not too knowledgeable on ranks so.. I forget whether Taii is the ship's captain rank or not...

Emo hair isn't professional or suited to military service.
 
Emo hair can be cut in such a way that it is clean and professional looking, however. It is less the messy hiding myself emo hair as it is a short cut with long bangs. Saying 'emo cut' is just a shorter way of putting that.
