Warning, this is not a simulation, But rather a war game excercise using "blunted" weapons with the Computer dictating results
Both ships were positioned in the Gamjie Star system. This was a first attempt at Military Cooperation between the two states. As a test, the Abwehran Empire was curious to see what Gartagen star ships could actually offer in terms of Mutual defense. As an Act of good Faith the Union Solar Navy opted to participate.
The Interloper was a destroyer class vessel and opened the scenerio.
"Abwehan Destroyer class vessel." The Tactical officer called out over the klaxons. "Looks like their weaponry is comparable to our own, awaiting orders."
The CO nodded. "Comms...send out a hostile challenge."
The Abwehran Vessel got an audio only hail. "Attention Abwehran Warship, this is Union territory...with draw immediatly or we will fire apon you."
Being the aggressor of the exercise, the Abwehran Lowenhertz IIB-class Destroyer HMS Remscheid (the only one of her class) manuevered to proceed along a tangeantal path compared to the Gartagen Interloper in an effort to squeeze as much time at a long-range confrontation as possible (due to its lack of missile capacity).
Still refusing to answer the hail, the Remscheid brought its 160mm Turret to bear upon the Interloper and fired a volley of invisible beams at its target.
The Abwehran cannon fired three shots at long range. The heavy tri barreled weapon rotated, and of the three shots, two collided with the bright red barrier screen bubble that surrounded the Gartagen Warship.
"Direct hit, Barrier Screen is holding." The Tactical officer called out."
"Launchr alert fighters, Slow to targeting speeds and fire the Gauss cannons and primary nuclear missile tubes."
"Aye sal!" The Gartagen Tactical officer called out.
The Abwehrans would seet he Gartagen drstroyed launch two squadrons of sundancers, which came out of the ship and started racing towards them evasivly. The Destroyer had come to what was essentiually a dead stop...but the power spike detected on the Abwehrans side of things made it clear they were about to get hit with nuclear ordinance.
Two large missiles raced out from the Gartagen warship. The first was struck down by the Abwehran Flak batteries, but the second detonated, hitting the Abweran shields. The radiation was kept out, but the stress caused the hull around the Abwehran shield generators to buckle and flucuate inflicting structual damage
Then the Gauss volly came.
The Abwehran shield's rippled and shook as it deflected the majority of the volly. But one of the solid Tungsten rounds broke through and periced the ship from prow to stern. The Impact was too much and the Abwehran shield generators shorted out.
"Two direct hits, their shields are offline!" The Tactical officer shouted
The CIC crew on the Interloper broke into cheers.
Undaunted by the loss of its shields, the HMS Remscheid brought its 80mm Laser Turrets to bear upon its target as well as its 160mm Turret. Not even waiting to move or charge its shields, it fired a full volley of invisible beams upon the Interloper.
The Ramschied's attack connected, causing extensive power spikeso n sensors. The Cannons managed to tear through hull of the Interloper, but her shields were still up, though her hull was clearly suffering from the barrage.
The Interloper started emitting energy flucuations. The abwehran weapons had caused extensive damage, and had caused a chain reaction in the Gartagen ship. Her core was going criticle.
The Gartagen Ship got its reactor back online, and started moving again, But it did not fire. The Reactor going criticle had clearly caused them to focus on saving them selves, rather then risking all to finish off the Abwehran ship
The Sundancers however launched their missiles. Abwehran sensors went dark, and the Ship rocked and was pushed into a Latiral spin.
The Tactical officer on the Ramschield called out. "We are still here...Sensors are down! We are having trouble targeting the enemy war ship.
On the move once more, the HMS Remschield took this time to regenerate its shields while launching its Combat Drones in CAP (Combat Aerospace Patrol) as well as its Repair Drones in order to repair the damage done to them. "Mien Fuherer, Repair teams have gotten sensors and shield back online, and we have retoured power to get shield up and running again!"
The Gartagen Warship Pressed the Assault. 10 smaller nuclear missiles were detected with the Abwehran's freshly restored sensors. Behind that the Gauss Cannons were charging and then fired
The Gartagen Fighter Squadrons moved to engage the Abwehran Drones in an effort to keep the heavy worlder's pinned.
The Gartagen's Barrage punished the Abwehran ship. Her tough hull resisted the nuclear blasts, but those mighty Gauss Cannons made a mockery of even the most technologically developed armor. Two of the ordinance shredded through the ship's hull leaving an entrance wound as well as an exit. The Bridge on the Abwehran ship buzzed, and the power all through out the ship went out.
Dim lighting kicked on. The emergency power had cut on.
The Gartagen ship hailed again.
"Attention Abwehran ship, surrender and prepair to be boarded, or be destroyed."
As repair crews continued to work, the HMS Remscheid's Captain mulled over the surrender. After a few moment, a single transmission would be sent to the Gartagen. "How about no."
With the power off, the Repair crews were in shambles. Dead bodies littered the ship, and though they tried, the shock and despiration onboard the cruiser seemed too much for the crew to bare.
A glimmer of hope did happen when Engineering shouted over the internal PA. "LET THERE BE LIGHT!" And main power cut back on

The Gartagen ship hailed again.
"Attention Abwehran ship, surrender and prepair to be boarded, or be destroyed."
The Abwehran answer came in the form of an all out volley of lasers from both 80mm and 160mm turrets targeted at the Interloper.
The Sudden Volly from the Abwehran Star ship cut through the interloper like butter through a knife. The ship shuddered, and the Barrage soon split the Interloper in two. The resulting power surge finished off any hope of prisinors or survivors.
It seemed as if rather then causing the Sundancer squadrons to break off...the destruction of their mother ship seemed to temper their pilots. The Sun dancers broke off, and beared down onto the the Abwehran Destroyed.
The Ship rocked as the Sun Dancer moved over the battered hull of the destroyer like buzzards. Their small weapons were good enough to pick out sensitive points on the ship.
Their movement was so swift that the Abwehran guns would scarcely be able to track them.
With the Gartagen vessel destroyed, but the fighters still an issue, the HMS Remscheid decided to uses its Combat Drones as a sacraficial force (ordering them to attack the Sun Dancers) before pulling its repair drones in and pulling out of the fight.
The Sundancers suffere a few losses, but muster their strength and pull away running down the shattered destroyed.
the CAG opens a transmission. "Attention Abwehran war ship, surrender, you will not survive another assault from us." I repeat Surrender or be destroyed."
Though defiant the Abwehran Commander sees that his ship will eventually be blown up. The sight of so many of his/her crew dead and broke, as well as the extensive damage brought meant this was his only alternative.
The Gartagen Commander on the destroyer hailed.
She laughed "Thank you! That was an honorable battle! Your people have a lot of metal in battle. I feel as though the navy of the other races underestimate you."
She looked at her DEAD bridge crew. "There is no shame in death at the hands of an honorable adversary."
