Approved Character Sprite Character: Miharu Nao

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

One small issue, the creation of sprites is outlawed as of YE 31. So you need to remove that reference otherwise nothing glaring that I can see.

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

So what do I have to change exactly? Remove all references of Sprite, or perhaps change her age?

EDIT: Edited the character. How is it now?

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

If you want to be in my plot, it needs to be a sprite. Nashoba has a valid point, except that I personally feel the no-slavery law does not apply to sprites in my plot. Sprite creation is far too vital for the function of the Star Army for me to consider that such a law could've even been passed without Yui beheading someone in the process for their stupidity.

Sprites are created from a ship. In some ways, thier mother is the ship. Some are even so closely tied to the ship that they are 'avatars' of its AI. However, as they age and mature, they're just as free as any other neko to head out anywhere. They just start by default in the military... and they probably have somewhat rougher childhood when they are on a frontline vessel like Miharu is.

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

I think the current definition of a Sprite is a Mass Production Infantry unit that was created in a ship instead of a cloning factory.

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

So shall I call Nao a Sprite, or a Mass Production Infantry Unit? I think either way, we can get her born on the Miharu. I had changed it back to sprite, as well as her age to 10 months in hopes that it will help.

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

you can make it easier and just give her the same birthdate as Yuzuki, seeing they were born roughly around the same time.

Yuzuki's is 27 09 30

Re: Sprite Character: Nao

The history seems to pan out now that I've taken a look at it. It's short, but it'll perhaps fill up overtime so there's no problem there. you might want to give the skills another lookover to make sure they match the revised history.

I'm sorry for forcing you into a more cookie-cutter mold, Cadetnewb. However, if you want to hop in now to make sure to be there for Miharu's concluding mission... then it's what I have to ask you to do to credibly wriggle you in.

Changed the link, edited the character and some of the skill sets.

To be honest; I don't mind being squeezed into this 'cookie cutter' format; I'm sure if sprites and clones can deal with it, I can too. I just want to participate in this great plot, and even more so since it's coming to a close. My only regret was not attempting to join earlier.

I'm not a big stickler with skills. Frankly, once I get to know my player's characters I sort of visualize what I know they can do and not. A lot of the skill a character has is actually injected by the player writing out the said situation. One common instance is fighting - the bio can say you're a good combatant... but it truly depends more on the person's ability to write that and the situation itself.

considering that, I'm looking at Strategy, Survival and Domestic and I wonder how Nao would've obtained those.

Domestics is easy, though. when created, perhaps Nao did not go and do the heavier mechanical work some of the other sprites did (which was why she was initially not featured in engineering RP).

Planetary survival is more touchy, seeing I'm not sure how she would've trained that way. Miharu offers nice stuff, but the well rounded education of a training facility is not one of them so I'm figuring all she'd have are downloaded information.

The same goes with survival. The teamwork bit is excellent, but the idea of an untested soldier being a credible leader is a little farfetched to me. I'd rather see that developed in RP. If such a chemistry blossoms on its own, then we can later flesh out the skill entry.

Sorry. I don't mean to be picky... but I think that makes sense. how about you, Cadetnewb?

Edited. Yes, I can understand the need for a well done character in RPs done here. Most of the skills here are slightly modified cookie cutter things from the character creation guide, with minor changes, such as her slight obsession with war porn, or that steaming thing that I swapped out. You're concerns make perfect sense.

As far as I'm concerned you're mostly good to go.

I don't think i have character approving powers anymore, though, so I suggest you wait on Doshii to give it a final glance over.

Once your character is approved, you won't get an order thread. However, you can immediately start posting in Mission 5, assuming that Nao was in the wardroom listening to the briefing.

Nao's immediate superior should be Yuzuki. Ichigo would also do, but she's an NPC (I'd prefer you go for a PC so that Gallant can RP his heisho rank). The superior above Yuzuki is Tom Freeman.

I actually apparently have character approval powers, just not the power to move stuff to the approval forum. so, I'll just give my recommendation.

Since all My and all of the GM's concerns have been addressed, I claim this character Recommended For Approval

Actually Kai you are not on the Character Mod list.

But I am not going to hold this character up since the GM's for the plot are cool with it.

Approved

They took me off it? Doshii had told me that I was a character mod, several times.

Oh well. Congrats, Cadette. Now get to posting!

We just need to get you put on the list.

Which has now been done.

Thanks for taking care of it, Brian.
